[Hiring] Sales Engineer @MARS SECURITY

Role Description

Mars Security is looking for a Presale Engineer who has sat in the SOC chair and knows what a security team actually needs before they say it. You will be the technical voice in every deal: running discovery, building demos around the customer's real stack, leading POCs, and proving value with hunts and detections that land in their environment. You will work directly with founders, sales, and customers. What you hear in the field shapes the product.

What You'll Do

• Own the technical side of the sales cycle, from first discovery call through POC to close
• Run technical discovery with SOC, threat hunting, and detection engineering teams to map their stack, coverage, and gaps
• Build and deliver tailored demos grounded in the customer's environment: SIEM, EDR, cloud, identity, etc.
• Plan, lead, and close POCs with clear success criteria, and run live hunts and detections that prove value
• Answer technical questions, security questionnaires, and RFPs with depth and credibility
• Partner with sales on account strategy and with founders and product on what customers are asking for
• Feed field insights back into the roadmap: what customers need, what competitors miss, what wins deals

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in SOC, threat hunting, or detection engineering - MUST
• Presales, sales engineering, or customer-facing technical experience at a cybersecurity vendor - MUST
• Deep working knowledge of SIEM and EDR platforms (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, Elastic, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Defender)
• Solid understanding of attacker TTPs, MITRE ATT&CK, and how campaigns operate end to end
• Comfortable writing and explaining detection rules and hunt queries (SPL, KQL, Sigma, etc.)
• Familiarity with infrastructure: networking, identity, cloud, endpoint
• Ability to translate deep technical value into business outcomes for both analysts and CISOs
• Python or scripting skills for building demos, integrations, and POC tooling - a plus
• Excellent written and verbal English communication and presentation skills - MUST
• Strong customer-facing skills and ability to build trusted relationships with customers
• Willingness to travel as needed
• Team player with strong collaboration and communication skills
