Role Description

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for establishing, growing, and maintaining a strong presence within the assigned Security Sales Region. The RSM will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships which foster sales and growth for the region. The RSM must be successful in meeting and exceeding assigned quota and KPI’s.

This is a fully remote, territory-based role covering Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, and Northern California. Candidates must reside within the assigned territory.

Salary range: $85,000 to $95,000 annually, depending on experience.

Commission: $40,000 annually, depending on performance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Achieve and consistently exceed monthly sales goals
• Regularly interacts with senior leaders and/or customers, involving skills such as negotiating with customers/management
• Attend industry association events and customer trade shows as directed
• Deliver effective sales and technical training to our customers/partners
• Achieve and constantly exceed KPI’s for self and team (e.g., new customer acquisition, attachment sales, product launches, etc.)
• Communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization
• Analyze and control expenditures of channel to conform to budgetary requirements
• Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
• Monitor and evaluate competitors’ activities and products; provide competitive intelligence
• Work with the Technical Trainers in the territory to ensure proper training and advanced technical support for dealers
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years sales experience in related channel sales management (distributors/dealers/national accounts) in the Residential or Commercial Intrusion Security space
• Demonstrated successful sales skills core competencies and ability to formulate sales growth strategies
• Track record of growing and acquiring new business
• Exceptional negotiation, motivational, relationship-building, and client service skills

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Strong written communication and verbal skills
• Intermediate to advanced experience in sales reporting utilizing CRM (such as Salesforce.com), and MS Office applications required
• Experience with NetSuite or another ERP system a plus
• Flexible and adaptable, adjusts to changing priorities in fast-growth, dynamic environment
• An interest in consumer electronic products and training in technically related areas
• Home base within the assigned territory, with existing relationships within the territory customer base
• Proven ability to multi-task, set project priorities, goals, and objectives for self
• Ability to effectively & professionally communicate with co-workers, customers, and vendors
• Proven ability to meet sales goals and excel in a goal-driven environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Positive attitude, self-motivated, and eager to succeed

Physical Requirements

• Required to sit, talk or hear; frequently required to use hands to grip or feel; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Vision and depth perception suitable for utilizing a computer, printer, phone, and keyboard
• Manual dexterity suitable for utilizing a computer
• Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to work in an office setting
• Ability to walk and/or climb 5% of the time comfortably, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to sit at a computer for 90% of the time comfortably, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to travel domestically approximately 70% of the time
• Light to moderate lifting

Working Conditions

• Must be comfortable working in an office environment, including moderate noise levels
• The working area is primarily in an open office setting with reasonable lighting and controlled temperatures
• Must be able to successfully work at a home office
• Traveling by airplanes, cars, or trains; conditions may vary in regard to temperature, exposure to elements, and accommodations
