[Hiring] Regional Sales Director @Watsco, Inc.

Role Description

Tradewinds Distributing Company is currently seeking a Regional Sales Director (RSD) to grow our mini-split and unitary business in the East region of the United States. RSD is responsible for growing existing customer accounts and expanding the customer base of “3rd party” distributors (outside the Watsco branches). RSD is expected to expand business by developing key distribution accounts directly, as well as using a “bottoms up” approach by educating local dealers/installers and other key constituents.

• Develop and maintain close working relationships with current customer base.
• Sell mini-split and unitary equipment to new distributors in the eastern U.S. states of ME, MA, NH, VT, CT, NY, NJ, DE, PA, DC, VA, WV, TN, AL, GA, SC, NC, FL, RI (over-the-counter and project-based sales).
• Implement product and set integrity in stores, provide feedback on market conditions, ensure proper inventory levels, maintenance of retail product catalogues and provide training to retail associates.
• Train both internal and external users on general product knowledge, applications, best practices, equipment benefits, troubleshooting and installation.
• Identify and hire rep firms to help cover the territory and manage their activities/performance.
• Provide competitive information such as bid situations, pricing data, or bundling arrangements to establish negotiated pricing contracts for assigned products.
• Perform product demonstrations, installations, and application support.
• Travel assigned territory calling on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and schedule training.
• Develop a daily/weekly call list and maintain information accuracy for weekly sales reports/opportunity funnel.
• Review monthly sales reports with management to determine if goals and objectives are being met.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with strong customer focus.
• 5+ years of experience in B2B sales focused on HVAC distribution.
• Combination of sales and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational and presentation skills.
• Strong knowledge of ductless products and market dynamics preferred.
• Highly motivated with a strong desire for advancement.
• Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to multitask and time management skills.
• Ability to build working relationships.
• Advanced level negotiation skills.
• Travel Requirements: 50%.

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent. BA/BS degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in HVAC industry.
