Role Description
Homeward Mortgage is hiring a Manager of Mortgage Sales to lead a small, high-producing team of Loan Officers and help us continue building a differentiated mortgage experience for Homeward’s buyers and agents.

Lead, coach, and develop a small team of high-producing Loan Officers, creating the structure and support they need to successfully manage high volume.

Monitor team and individual KPIs and SLAs, identify performance gaps, and translate data into specific coaching and action plans.

Foster a culture where every viable opportunity matters; strong lead volume should never create complacency.

Develop and maintain deep expertise in conventional, FHA, VA, investor, and Homeward-specific lending guidelines.

Coach Loan Officers on sales conversations, objection handling, follow-up strategy, agent communication, and effective pipeline prioritization.

Develop Loan Officers who build strong agent relationships and become trusted financing partners to Homeward’s agent network.

Step into customer and agent escalations when leadership involvement can help protect the relationship, transaction, or customer experience.

Build a strong Sales and Operations partnership grounded in shared accountability.

Partner with Mortgage leadership and broader Homeward teams as we develop and improve unique Homeward mortgage products and offerings.

Facilitate regular team meetings and 1:1s that are actionable, performance-focused, and valuable to the Loan Officer team.

Qualifications

5+ years of residential mortgage experience, including direct experience originating purchase loans.

2+ years of experience leading, coaching, or managing Loan Officers in a high-production sales environment.

Deep working knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and NonQM guidelines.

Proven experience leading a team to meet or exceed sales and conversion goals.

A customer- and agent-first mindset with high standards for communication, urgency, and follow-through.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to use performance data to identify opportunities and drive action.

Excellent judgment and the ability to balance sales urgency, customer advocacy, credit risk, and compliance requirements.

Strong cross-functional partnership skills and the ability to build productive relationships with Operations, Underwriting, Secondary, Compliance, Product, and senior leadership.
