Role Description

As a Mortgage Operations Manager, you'll play a critical role in leading the teams and processes that help deliver a seamless mortgage experience from application through underwriting. This position offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence, strengthen risk management practices, and develop high-performing teams while helping customers achieve their homeownership goals.

• Lead mortgage processing and underwriting operations, ensuring loans are reviewed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with credit and documentation requirements.
• Guide teams in resolving complex and escalated loan application, underwriting, and operational issues while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
• Review and approve complex loan scenarios and underwriting decisions within delegated authority and appropriately escalate high-risk or non-standard requests.
• Ensure consistent interpretation and application of investor, agency, regulatory, and internal lending guidelines.
• Oversee loan data integrity, documentation quality, and operational processes to maintain compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Manage daily workflow distribution and pipeline performance across processing and underwriting teams to meet service level expectations.
• Analyze operational metrics, production trends, and reporting to identify risks and implement process improvements.
• Partner closely with loan production, closing, secondary marketing, quality control, and other key stakeholders to resolve loan challenges and improve loan flow.
• Promote adherence to policies, procedures, regulations, and internal controls while supporting audit readiness and quality assurance efforts.
• Lead, coach, and develop mortgage operations team members, supporting performance management, workforce planning, and employee growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Law, Computer Science, or a related field (Required).
• 6+ years of experience in mortgage operations, operational leadership, process oversight, and team management (Required).
• 4+ years of supervisory or management experience leading a team, process, or project (Required).

• Deep knowledge of mortgage operations, including processing, underwriting, and cross-functional workflow management.
• Understanding of regulatory, investor, and internal lending requirements and ability to apply them consistently across operations.

• Communicate effectively with leaders, stakeholders, and team members to influence outcomes and align priorities.

• Targeted starting salary range (based on experience and geography): $88,657 - $116,819.
