[Hiring] Genomics Healthcare Inside Sales Representative @Illumina

Role Description

The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for successfully positioning and selling company products professionally and creatively in a given geographical region. The job involves:

• Engaging and qualifying new and existing customers.
• Positioning Illumina products to provide solutions to customer projects and business needs.
• Partnering closely with internal and field-based sales team members to pursue common sales goals.
• Working with top academic institutions, research centers, and business organizations globally.
• Minimal travel time (10%).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a strong understanding of Illumina’s technology and products.
• Establish and execute strategies for obtaining new customers and maintaining/growing existing accounts.
• Make outbound contact to identify sales opportunities.
• Take an analytical approach to executing optimal solutions.
• Present versatile and unique solutions during customer negotiations.
• Learn and adapt from each experience to improve effectiveness.
• Work effectively in a team environment to drive revenue opportunities.
• Manage customer relationships post-sale to develop long-term business relationships.

Qualifications

• Basic Genetics and Molecular Biology foundation.
• 2-5 years of experience in a Life Science laboratory, Sales role, or related field with customer-facing experience.
• Experience with strategic sales skills and proven ability to develop and grow key accounts is preferred.
• Effective presentation skills to customers, peers, and management.
• Preferred knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing and Genotyping methods.
• Self-motivated to continue learning beyond initial onboarding.
• Desire to be an effective collaborator in a team selling environment.
• Strong desire to “win” and build customer relationships.
• Approach tasks with urgency and manage time effectively.

Requirements

• B.A. or B.S. Required, preferably in Biology / Life Science or Genetics.
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Biology / Genetics preferred.
