Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Freight Broker who thrives in a fast-paced brokerage environment and has an active book of business. This role is ideal for a driven logistics professional with experience managing freight in a cradle-to-grave environment while developing strong customer and carrier relationships. The ideal candidate is highly organized, results-oriented, and capable of managing both shipper accounts and carrier partnerships while maximizing profitability and service performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and grow an active book of business through relationship management and account expansion
• Prospect and onboard new shipper accounts to drive revenue growth
• Manage truckload shipments from pickup to delivery in a cradle-to-grave brokerage environment
• Negotiate freight rates with shippers and carriers to maximize margins
• Build and maintain reliable carrier relationships to secure capacity
• Resolve shipment issues proactively while delivering high-level customer service
• Drive revenue growth through both new and existing customer accounts
• Maintain accurate reporting and customer data within CRM and TMS platforms
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth freight execution

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of freight brokerage experience
• Mandatory active book of business
• Experience working in a cradle-to-grave brokerage environment
• Strong understanding of truckload market trends, pricing, and carrier management
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Experience using TMS platforms, load boards, and CRM systems
• Ability to manage multiple customers and shipments in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with dry van, reefer, flatbed, or specialized freight
• Familiarity with McLeod, Tai, AscendTMS, Turvo, Salesforce, or HubSpot
• Experience using DAT and Truckstop load boards
• Strong sales charisma and relationship-building ability
