Role Description
The Business Development Manager (BDM) for Defense & Aerospace will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, focusing on expanding Jabil's footprint within the defense and aerospace sectors.
- Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities within the defense and aerospace markets.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create and implement strategic growth plans that align with the company’s objectives.
- Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and areas for growth.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including defense contractors, government agencies, and commercial aerospace customers.
- Work closely with engineering, product development, and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets by driving new revenue streams.
- Represent Jabil at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote the company’s capabilities and build industry presence.
Qualifications
- US Citizenship is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field required.
- 5+ years in a business development, program management, government acquisition, and/or technical program leadership role for aerospace and/or defense products is required.
- Strong personal networking skills with exposure to executive and leadership levels in Aerospace and Defense companies and/or the Department of Defense.
- Proven track record of identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel 30%+ as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
- Team-player personality is required.
- Self-starter that operates with a minimum level of oversight.
- Deal-closer mentality that executes the full sales cycle to capture new business.
- Military service is appreciated, and veterans are encouraged to apply.
- Active security clearance preferred.
