Role Description
As a Switchboard Sales Engineer, you serve as the low voltage switchboard technical expert within the sales organization. You provide essential technical guidance to the sales team, helping validate complex requirements and ensure our solutions align with customer specifications.
- Collaborate with salespeople to review technical specifications and single line diagrams for RFQs.
- Review quotes, customer-provided specifications, bid documents, and purchase orders for invoices.
- Ensure switchboard engineering drawings and nameplates meet quality standards.
- Join customer calls to provide direct technical expertise and support.
- Provide guidance on specifications, capabilities, and technical requirements to salespeople.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain or Product Team to resolve technical questions or concerns.
- Create training materials to teach the broader team about switchboards.
- Assist with developing and maintaining internal quote tools for accurate switchboard configuration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field and/or evidence of exceptional experience.
- 2+ years of experience in switchboard design, manufacturing, or application engineering.
- Comprehensive knowledge of switchboard specifications and industry standards (UL 891, NEMA PB-2, NEC/NFPA 70).
- Proven experience reviewing technical specifications and engineering drawings.
- Strong technical writing abilities for documentation and training materials.
- Experience in customer-facing technical roles.
- Excellent project management skills with ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.

- Deep low voltage power distribution expertise and practical engineering knowledge.

- Ability to teach and explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.

Pay Transparency
The range provided below is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning it includes both the commission / bonus target and annual base salary for the role (if applicable). This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Giga and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Salary Range: $60,000 — $160,000 USD
