Role Description

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a National Strategic Customer Manager (NSCM) to increase market share with facility maintenance contractors and end-users in the postconstruction Data Center space. This role involves:

  • Developing and strengthening customer relationships
  • Increasing product awareness
  • Presenting solution-based capabilities
  • Managing relationships from field-level decision makers to corporate offices
  • Serving as a mentor to local Power & HVAC OSR’s
  • Coordinating efforts between Branch Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Regional Manager, and Senior Leadership
  • Extensive local and overnight travel

Position Responsibilities

  • Coordinate sales calls with local, regional, or national sellers on Strategic Customers within operational Data Centers
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen internal relationships with local Outside Sales Reps and Branch Managers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in data centers and FM management companies
  • Create and deliver compelling presentations showcasing products and services relevant to data center operations
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and client needs
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through networking and attending industry events
  • Prepare customized proposals and pricing models based on customer requirements
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers
  • Provide ongoing support to customers to address issues and ensure satisfaction
  • Follow up with clients after the sale to gather feedback and identify future sales opportunities
  • Work closely with internal engineering, marketing, and support teams
  • Meet or exceed sales targets while maintaining accurate records in the company’s CRM system
  • Educate clients about product features, benefits, and best practices
  • Travel nationally to meet customers, attend trade shows, and explore new markets
  • Develop relationships with targeted Strategic Customers to become their “first call”
  • Attend national and regional trade shows as necessary
  • Review, design, and update customer programs as necessary
  • Work with sales and leadership teams to present agreements to customers
  • Oversee and determine rate structure within a specified space
  • Keep appropriate business leaders apprised of activities, progress, or issues with Strategic customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager
  • Support the overall strategy of the company and the Power & HVAC line of business
  • Increase revenue and return on investment on specific product lines and market segments
  • Assist team with in-depth product specification training
  • Actively engage and keep the team involved in tradeshows and associations
  • Manage specific projects on an as-needed basis to drive revenue

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • 6-8+ years in Outside Sales or Sales Management role
  • Documented successful territory management showing consistent revenue growth
  • Comfortable cold calling on new accounts
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Comfortable calling on jobsites and corporate offices
  • Ability to incorporate Specialty Businesses into presentations and product offerings
  • Salesforce experience preferred but not required

Requirements

  • 75% to 85% travel required
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crouch, and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more
  • Some jobs may require driving for long periods, loading and unloading heavy equipment, and working in extreme weather conditions
  • All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt’s safety policies and guidelines
