Role Description

The National Account Manager is expected to retain and develop an existing customer portfolio within the marine/maritime sector by offering a consistent expert proposition that suits the customer’s needs in line with the company’s service offering.

  • Pro-actively generate and identify new business opportunities from self-sourced or qualified company leads.
  • Develop a demonstrable strategy to develop existing and win new customers by researching key business sectors.
  • Develop, present and successfully sell the company’s services to new and existing clients using persuasive sales collateral.
  • Plan and implement new business strategy to identify specific customer targets and project the number of contacts to be made.
  • Prepare a projected forecast for sales activity, including customer visits and projected revenue.
  • Manage, develop and progress self-sourced or company generated leads and referrals from field activity.
  • Prepare presentations, proposals, quotes, and effective sales contracts for internal and external parties.
  • Develop and maintain relevant sales materials with support from Marketing.
  • Establish, develop and maintain client relationships with appropriate contact plans.
  • Conduct audits/reviews of customer assets to ensure awareness of the full sales and services proposition.
  • Prepare accurate paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
  • Manage account services through CRM data including renewals.
  • Investigate, escalate and resolve customer concerns and grievances.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities and market feedback to appropriate company staff.
  • Ensure all activity is recorded accurately on CRM.
  • Liaise with marketing team to develop sales outreach strategies for key customers or sectors.
  • Work within the company’s vision and values framework daily.
  • Attend key industry/market events including UKHMA, ESS, etc.
  • Assist in planning and delivering training, exercises, and incident response activities.

Qualifications

  • Ability to develop and deliver high professional standard presentations.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written sales proposals and materials.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Understanding of key legislation affecting customers in the maritime sector.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of own customer base and influencing factors on customer activity.
  • Plan active participation in marketing events, such as seminars and trade shows.
  • Thorough knowledge of the market in which customers operate.
  • Ability to report and forecast accurately.
  • Act as an ambassador for Adler & Allan internally and externally.
