Role Description

This is a nationwide opportunity!

• As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will be the primary point of contact for our clients, guiding them through the entire loan process from application to closing.
• Source and originate residential mortgage loans, actively offering and negotiating loan terms that best meet consumer needs.
• Achieve and exceed assigned loan production goals as established by the Branch Manager.
• Manage the full loan application process, including accurately taking applications, verifying borrower and property information, and obtaining all necessary documentation from consumers and business partners.
• Collaborate effectively with in-house teams, including processors, underwriters, and other corporate staff, to ensure timely and smooth loan file progression.
• Analyze consumers' financial data to accurately identify and recommend the most appropriate loan products and solutions to meet their unique financial goals.
• Act as an expert advisor, clearly communicating Fairway’s lending guidelines, procedures, and various product options to consumers and partners.
• Respond promptly and professionally to all inquiries from consumers and business partners regarding mortgage loan products.
• Build, maintain, and expand a robust professional network of referral sources, including real estate agents, home builders, financial professionals, and attorneys, to generate a consistent flow of new business.
• Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan designed to maximize loan quality and productivity, ensuring alignment with Fairway’s overall objectives.
• Actively participate in professional organizations and community events, which frequently requires travel to offsite networking events.
• Maintain expert-level knowledge of all Fairway policies, guidelines, product offerings, and state and federal regulations impacting mortgage lending, including the SAFE Act.
• Ensure strict adherence to all company policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements in every aspect of the loan origination process.

Qualifications

• Active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation and in good standing with the NMLS for the state(s) in which you conduct business.
• $2+ years of recent, consecutive experience in retail mortgage loan origination/sales.
• Proven track record of successful loan origination supported by a consistent source of referral-based business from realtors, builders, and other industry professionals.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a consistent loan pipeline (preferred).
• Experience analyzing, interpreting, and applying complex data to make sound business decisions.
• Demonstrated experience working successfully in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and changing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of various residential loan programs (e.g., Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA) and secondary market guidelines to effectively manage complex loan scenarios.
• Solid knowledge of mortgage lending processes, procedures, and regulations, including state and federal real estate lending laws.
• Strong understanding of core mortgage-related terms such as escrow, taxes, closing documents, and insurance.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain quality client and partner relationships.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively.
