Role Description

We are looking for an Internal Wholesaler (Internal Marketing Representative -"IMR") to be part of our Midwest region team. You will be responsible for contributing to sales through financial professional recruiting, telemarketing, and providing product, illustration, marketing and sales support. The IMR will proactively work to create new as well as manage existing relationships with financial professionals in their region to achieve recruiting and sales goals.

  • Work in partnership with the field sales team (which includes Regional Directors, Regional Marketing Directors, or Regional Marketing Specialists as assigned).
  • Develop and maintain a thorough familiarity with all aspects of the assigned regions, including:
    • Understanding of the business practices of key producers
    • Overview of Focus Firms
    • Geographic locations of financial professionals
    • Knowledge of the regional sales style needed to locally market life insurance or annuity products
  • Function as a liaison between the field and the home office.
  • Embrace a flexible, hybrid approach to work.

Job Responsibilities

  • Recruiting and Financial Professional Support
    • Conduct telemarketing activities with current and prospective financial professionals to generate sales activity.
    • Proactively develop business relationships with current and prospective financial professionals to encourage new sales.
    • Increase the number of financial professionals that do business with Penn Mutual and maximize sales potential from each contact.
    • Develop and follow-up on sales leads from various sources, including referrals, conferences, and other appropriate sources.
    • Provide ongoing service and support to financial professionals.
    • Follow up scheduled meetings of field partner(s) and provide information as requested.
  • Outbound and Inbound Telemarketing
    • Generate daily appointments by proactively calling prospects and existing financial professionals.
    • Prospect for potential new financial professionals using various support tools.
    • Follow up on all regional recruiting campaigns with phone calls to obtain appointments.
    • Promote sales seminars with financial professionals and confirm attendance.
    • Conduct follow-up phone calls to schedule appointments before and after seminars and meetings.
  • Marketing
    • Manage all marketing activities in assigned regions to maximize field sales activity.
    • Develop sales ideas to share with financial professionals and provide illustration support.
    • Coordinate various promotional events with field partners or home office marketing associates.
    • Follow up on all marketing campaigns to offer additional support and schedule follow-up appointments.
  • Company, Product and Technical Knowledge
    • Obtain required knowledge regarding Penn Mutual’s mutual structure, financial stability, and industry ratings.
    • Understand FINRA and insurance regulations as well as company compliance guidelines.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge across all supported product lines and operational procedures.
    • Comprehend the suitable application of PML’s product in sales situations and recommend to financial professionals.
    • Provide illustration and case design support.
    • Stay abreast of Penn Mutual’s competition, specifically product and marketing programs.
  • Sales Tracking, Sales Analysis, Recordkeeping and Reporting
    • Track weekly appointment activity and report sales results.
    • Maintain records documenting status of appointments and sales results.
    • Communicate proactively with financial professionals regarding case status.
    • Retain and track illustrations and related sales results.
    • Create and maintain an updated database with current financial professional information.
    • Analyze sales activity and results upon request.
    • Provide weekly sales reports and review results during team meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 and Series 63 registrations required
  • Life insurance license required

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of related experience in the sales and marketing of insurance products; equivalent experience may be considered

Benefits

  • Role is variable based with a monthly commission as well as a base salary of $60,000 + bonus
