Role Description

The Group Vice President (GVP), Mid Market and Enterprise Sales will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive go-to-market (GTM) strategy. This role involves leading a team of sales leaders to achieve and exceed sales objectives. The ideal candidate will lead from the front, providing hands-on coaching, fostering talent development, and driving performance. Additionally, the GVP will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure operational excellence.

  • Lead, coach, and develop sales leaders managing Mid Market and Enterprise accounts.
  • Influence the Enterprise product roadmap by collaborating with partnerships and R&D to address customer needs.
  • Serve as a brand evangelist, representing our Enterprise customers at conferences, presenting product roadmaps, and building market presence with partners.
  • Oversee multiple business units to meet and exceed assigned sales booking and revenue goals.
  • Negotiate and close sales contracts in collaboration with Toast’s legal counsel.
  • Ensure Sales Leaders understand marketing strategies and effectively communicate product and feature information.
  • Share and implement best practices across the sales organization.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with complementary service providers to drive new revenue opportunities.
  • Manage all stages of the sales lifecycle, from lead generation and client meetings to value proposition development, financial deal structuring, contract negotiation, and closing.
  • Provide ongoing insights on industry trends, deal strategies, and sales best practices.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the competitive landscape to effectively position Toast as a market leader.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of successful technology or professional services sales leadership experience at the C-level.
  • Proven experience in SaaS, restaurant industry technology, and enterprise accounts.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience (including leading people leaders) with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex deals, financial structuring, negotiations, and closing with both new and existing clients.
  • Strong proficiency in managing sales processes, reporting, and tracking.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
