Role Description

The Global Key Account Manager will be responsible for nurturing and growing relationships with Itochu across the globe. This role is pivotal to our organisation's growth strategy, focusing on client retention, expansion, and delivering top-notch logistics solutions. The successful candidate will be an expert in the logistics industry, have a deep understanding of client needs, and possess exceptional relationship-building skills.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key automotive clients, understanding their business needs and challenges.
• Act as the primary point of contact and advocate for clients within the organisation.
• Sell all DP World services in all regions around the world.
• Identify account growth and expansion opportunities, collaborating with internal teams to develop solutions.
• Work across applicable verticals – auto, consumer, industrial, chemical.
• Ensure that clients know all the services and capabilities our company can offer to meet their evolving logistics requirements.
• Create and implement strategic account plans for key clients, aligning their objectives with our logistics solutions.
• Analyze market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for client engagement.
• Advise capability sales to increase probability of closing opportunities.
• Collaborate with in-Region sales / operations / solutions teams to devise, sell and operate DP World services.
• Responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives.
• Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times, promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Multi-industry experience – auto, consumer, industrial, chemical, perishables.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Proven track record in global key account management, with demonstrated client retention and growth success.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., CRM systems, Excel, logistics software).
• Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
• Experience with lean management principles and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
• Proficiency (speak, read & write) in Japanese and English.
