Role Description

The Director, Pharma & Life Sciences plays an important revenue-driving role as an individual contributor, responsible for planning and implementing an aggressive fundraising strategy to generate pharmaceutical and life science partnerships for the organization.

• Research, identify, and cultivate new business opportunities with new and existing partners through lead generation, proposal preparation, and sales presentations.
• Proactively build 6- and 7-figure strategic and dynamic partnerships that aim to support the goals of the partnering company, while advancing the brand and mission of Susan G. Komen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5-10 years of nonprofit and/or pharmaceutical/life sciences industry experience in developing, implementing, and managing complex partnerships required.
• Track record of meeting and exceeding large revenue goals, including building 6- and 7-figure partnerships.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and focus.
• Experience and expertise in developing comprehensive partnership proposals.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; research, develop, present, and promote projects; work independently; prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Requirements

• Proactively research, identify, create, and close new business opportunities.
• Effectively leverage qualified leads, as well as their own network, to create unique partnership opportunities with senior executives and leading corporations.
• Effectively manage a sales process and create financial forecasting/reporting of key performance metrics.
• Independent, self-starter who has a history of working with little direction and turning conceptual direction into executed strategies.
• Travel requirements outside of your home office will be up to 25% or more depending on business needs.
