[Hiring] Director Hard Home Sourcing @Quince

Role Description

We are seeking a Director Hard Home Sourcing, Europe to join our growing team. The Director, Hard Home Sourcing Europe role is a critical, net-new leadership role responsible for building Quince’s European Hard Home sourcing ecosystem from the ground up, with an initial focus on furniture and selective expansion into kitchen, tabletop, and decorative accessories. This role is explicitly designed as a heavy player/coach position. The successful candidate will bring a deep, existing network of European manufacturers, agents, and intermediaries (“black book”) and will personally lead supplier discovery, negotiation, onboarding, and early production execution. Reporting to the VP, Global Home Sourcing, this role owns the mandate to unlock Europe as a meaningful sourcing region for Hard Home, delivering significant near-term revenue impact and establishing the foundation for long-term diversification, speed, and margin advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supplier Network & Sourcing Strategy
  • Build and activate a Europe-wide supplier ecosystem with a primary focus on furniture, and selective categories including kitchen, tabletop, and decorative accessories.
  • Leverage existing relationships with factories, agents, and sourcing intermediaries servicing U.S.-based luxury and premium home brands.
  • Establish vendor redundancy across countries to reduce single-country risk and support long-term scalability.
  • Identify and develop country-of-origin storytelling opportunities (e.g., Portuguese stoneware) aligned with Quince’s brand and merchandising strategy.
• Execution & Commercial Ownership
  • Personally lead supplier vetting, cost negotiations, pricing acceptance, and onboarding during the first phase of market entry.
  • Partner closely with Merchandising to execute New Product Concepts (NPCs) and ensure rapid commercialization of new vendors.
  • Drive speed-to-market targets, including launch within 60 days of price acceptance and 45-day lead times on repeat orders.
  • Ensure PCOGs remain at or below category averages while meeting quality and compliance standards.
• Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Serve as the primary Europe Hard Home sourcing partner to Merchandising, Product Development, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance.
  • Translate merchant demand into executable supplier solutions without an existing regional infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively (30–40% across Europe) for factory visits, supplier onboarding, and relationship management.
• 12+ years of experience in Hard Home sourcing, merchandising, or product development, with deep European supplier expertise.
• Demonstrated success building and monetizing a European furniture supplier network.
• Existing relationships with European factories, agents, and intermediaries supporting premium-to-mid market retailers.
• Proven ability to operate in a blank-sheet, build-from-zero environment.
• Strong negotiation, costing, and supplier onboarding experience.

Requirements

• Experience sourcing kitchen, tabletop, or decorative accessories in Europe.
• Background working with DTC or vertically integrated retail brands.
• Familiarity with country-of-origin-driven brand storytelling.
