Role Description

We're looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to be part of the fast-paced xDR team. As a BDR at Algolia, you will play a critical role prospecting and expanding business opportunities across our Sales teams. You will take part in a wide variety of responsibilities that will help foster, qualify, and mature our pipeline with high-profile prospects and customers.

You will have the unique opportunity to work cross-functionally within a high-paced Global xDR Org, reporting directly to a Regional xDR Manager or Team Lead.

The BDR is adaptable, energetic, self-motivated, has a growth mindset, and is an outcome and result-driven member of our Business Development team. They are responsible for:

  • Responding to inbound requests from the assigned accounts, to agreed SLA’s.
  • Proactively outbounding to their target accounts, using an account-based approach.
  • Driving highly qualified accounts into the sales pipeline.
  • Working closely with their assigned Account Executives, Marketing, and other teams.
  • Ensuring adherence to best prospecting practices.
  • Inspiring potential customers and developing a robust pipeline for the Sales teams.

This is a high-impact role requiring someone with a growth, self-motivated mindset, who is able to work autonomously and continuously strives to improve both personally and professionally.

Your role will consist of:

  • Qualifying inbound leads from their Target Account List.
  • Building quality, qualified pipeline in your targeted set of accounts.
  • Researching and strategizing on how to approach targeted accounts with your allocated Account Executive.
  • Using tools to identify prospect key contacts and build a personalized approach.
  • Executing appropriate outbound strategies with relevant content.
  • Prioritizing time and efforts to maximize pipeline generation and account engagement.
  • Being an active part of the team, sharing best practices and participating in meetings.
  • Using the Salesforce platform to manage, track, and report sales activities.
  • Tracking allocated accounts' buying journey and responding accordingly.
  • Working with Sales Ops and Enablement for training and feedback.
  • Having recurring one-on-ones with Account Executives to check account strategy.
  • Collaborating with Marketing teams to ensure inquiries are followed up appropriately.
  • Using tools to monitor account journey phases and provide feedback to Marketing.
  • Working with ABM and demand generation teams on messaging and personalization.
  • Supporting the Field Events team by attending events and representing Algolia.
  • Working with the Algolia Partner teams on Partner driven opportunities.
  • Attending and contributing to meetings as required.
  • Using software and tools provided to support the role.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in lead generation and sales (SaaS experience preferred, but not required).
  • Highly motivated with a competitive edge.
  • Strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to change.
  • Keen interest in the tech industry.
  • Track record of achieving and exceeding individual quotas (Professional or Personal).
  • Excellent communication, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think clearly under pressure and manage demands.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-growing workplace, multi-task, and anticipate problems.
  • Willingness to take ownership and be held accountable.
  • Aptitude for continuous learning and development.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Optional Requirements

  • Additional language skills (ideally French, German, Dutch, or Spanish).
  • Ability to travel - 30%.
  • Experience using Salesforce, Outreach, and LinkedIn Sales Nav.
  • Preference for candidates with experience at our current stage and beyond.
  • Good understanding of working with the Google Office Suite.
  • BS or BA in marketing, communication, business, or related area of study.
