Role Description

The ideal candidate is supporting a DoW client providing regular quality assurance and system validation testing of healthcare IT systems to ensure high level functionality for clients and customers nationwide.

• Validate software enhancements, maintenance releases, defect corrections, and system upgrades.
• Support functional, integration, regression, user acceptance, system, and end-to-end testing activities.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test procedures for healthcare applications operating in MUMPS/InterSystems Caché environments.
• Verify data integrity across legacy healthcare applications, databases, interfaces, and external systems.
• Test healthcare interoperability transactions utilizing HL7, FHIR, EDI, and related industry standards.
• Participate in Beta/IOC testing with healthcare facilities and end users, documenting results and coordinating issue resolution.
• Analyze and troubleshoot software defects, integration failures, and production incidents.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and end users to validate requirements and test objectives.
• Develop test data and test environments supporting healthcare workflows and business processes.
• Execute manual and automated testing activities where applicable.
• Track, document, and communicate testing metrics, defects, risks, and status reports.
• Validate integrations involving VistA, FileMan, healthcare messaging platforms, and external partner systems.
• Support root cause analysis and verification of software fixes.
• Review system requirements and technical specifications to ensure testability and complete coverage.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, procedures, and quality standards.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on testing strategies for healthcare and government systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in software testing, quality assurance, or systems validations.
• Experience testing enterprise applications supporting clinical, benefits, or healthcare operations.
• Experience supporting legacy applications and long-lived mission-critical systems.
• Strong experience developing detailed test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, and test cases.
• Experience validating healthcare business workflows and system functionality.
• Experience supporting healthcare, government, or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience testing applications developed using MUMPS/InterSystems Cache’ is highly desired.
• Fluent understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, including: HL7, FHIR, and HIPAA EDI Transactions.
• Experience utilizing defect tracking and test management tools such as: Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, and TestRail.
• Experience supporting VistA and FileMan applications is a plus.
• Familiarity with EHR systems and healthcare operational workflows are desired.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Strong documentation skills.
• High attention to details.
• Strong problem-solving skills and highly analytical.
• ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA, or similar testing certification are preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related Discipline.
