[Hiring] Quality Inspector @Hotset

Role Description

The purpose of the Quality Inspector position is to provide guidance and support to production operations and to ensure that the customer requirements pertaining to quality of product are met prior to release to the customer. The quality inspector goal is to improve the manufacturing of cables/harness to meet customer requirements and they have the responsibility to strive to eliminate waste, provide a stable workflow while meeting program schedules and improving processes. This position requires that the Inspector have the ability to work closely with all departments and communicate concise and clear data to assist in providing a stable workflow, assist in process improvements, and provide input to training needs through defect and process improvement data.

Essential Functions

• Strong attention to detail.
• Interact with other departments by effectively communicating defects and nonconformance issues for reporting and resolution.
• Review and become knowledgeable with applicable program and specification documents.
• Conduct, document, and enter inspection data into the appropriate database for all inspection points.
• Assist in research, investigation, and interpretation of customer specifications, drawings, and documents.
• Encourage continuous improvement by submitting Point Improvements.
• Ensure that all First Article requirements are being met as defined by HOTSET and its customer.
• Understand and support the application of HOTSET’s Quality Management System requirements.

Work Environment

This job operates in an assembly plant environment, with no exposure to weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands

• Vision: must be able to identify different color wires, tabs, and electronic components.
• Dexterity: work with hands.
• Math: Basic math skills are required.
• Communication: Ability to convey information effectively.
• Mechanical/Technical Skills: Must be able to read and understand manuals and work with computers.
• Strength: Requires strength to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50.
• Stamina: May be sitting for extended periods of time, with frequent standing and walking required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma; or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Associates degree and/or applicable technical training preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to meet attendance requirements, which includes frequent voluntary and mandatory overtime.
• Must have excellent analytical skills, record-keeping skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
• Must be proficient in blueprint reading.
• Must have a working knowledge of basic inspection equipment.
• Required to know, understand, and apply all applicable customer specifications and standards.
• Must have knowledge of computers (e.g. – Excel and Word programs).
• Required to have a clear understanding of HOTSET Manufacturing’s Quality Management System and procedures.
• Must demonstrate excellent communication skills with Floor Lead, Trainer, Program Manager, Quality Manager.
• Must demonstrate a team and positive work attitude.
• Must demonstrate the ability to be detail-oriented and handle stressful situations.

Work Authorization

Must be a U.S. citizen or Alien who has a legal right to work in the United States. Valid proof required.
