[Hiring] Quality Assurance Specialist @Brain Box Automations

Role Description

We're looking for a sharp, detail-obsessed QA Specialist to own quality across everything we ship on web and mobile. You'll be the last line of defense before our work reaches clients and users, working closely with developers, PMs, and designers to catch issues early and make sure every release meets a high bar. This is a hands-on role with real ownership; your sign-off is what gives the team confidence to ship.

What You'll Do

• Test web applications and mobile apps (iOS and Android) across our client projects and in-house products.
• Write clear, reproducible test cases and maintain test documentation.
• Execute functional, regression, usability, and exploratory testing.
• Report bugs with precise reproduction steps, screenshots, screen recordings, and logs.
• Verify fixes and sign off on releases before they ship to clients or production.
• Test across devices, browsers, OS versions, and screen sizes to catch inconsistencies before users do.
• Collaborate closely with developers, PMs, and designers to understand requirements and flag edge cases early.
• Help define QA processes as we scale, including test plans, release checklists, and bug triage workflows.

Qualifications

• Hands-on manual QA experience across both web and mobile.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and where QA fits in.
• Comfortable testing on real devices and emulators for both iOS and Android.
• Experience with cross-browser testing (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge).
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools like Jira, Linear, ClickUp, or similar.
• Sharp attention to detail; you notice the things other people miss.
• Clear written communication; you can describe a bug so anyone can reproduce it.
• A curious, user-first mindset; you ask 'what if a user does this?' before the user does.
• Comfortable working remotely with async communication.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience testing AI-powered products or LLM-based features.
• Knowledge of analytics tools like PostHog, Mixpanel, or Firebase.
• Exposure to test automation tools like Selenium, Playwright, or Appium.
• Understanding of accessibility and performance testing basics.
• Experience with TestFlight, Firebase App Distribution, or similar beta testing platforms.

Compensation

Competitive rate based on experience. Contract engagement, hourly, tracked through our standard time-tracking process with payments on a regular cycle.

Work Environment

• Remote First: We're a fully distributed team. You work from wherever you're most productive.
• Flexible Working Hours: Work on your own schedule—we trust you to manage your time. We do ask that you maintain availability between 6pm–12am PKT to ensure we have overlap for synchronous meetings and team collaboration. We recommend 3–4 hours of working time within this window so you can effectively reach other team members, though it's not a hard requirement.
