Role Description

The Software QA Engineer performs advanced and/or supervisory computer systems analysis and team lead work, administering the daily operations and activities of testing teams within the Quality Assurance (QA) section of IT-SEDS (Information Technology – Statewide Education Data System). Work involves planning, budgeting, and analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems.

This position will work with the FSP development team to provide the following Software Testing Services:

• Analyze user requirements, design documents and other documentation to develop detailed test cases
• Create and execute automated functional and regression test cases against HTML, PDF, and Excel Reports, report and document all issues, test cases ran, test results, and testing summaries in detail
• Perform SQL queries to analyze and manipulate data
• Work with development team and customers to clearly understand the functionality under test to define and implement test case automation and clearly communicate to the team
• Execute performance and accessibility testing
• Perform manual testing and data validation

Qualifications

• 7 years Required: Testing complex Web Applications
• 7 years Required: Testing all phases of Software Development Life Cycle
• 7 years Required: Testing automation experience with Selenium and TestNG
• 5 years Required: Advanced Database/SQL Language
• 3 years Required: Experience with Java Programming Language
• 2 years Required: Experience Using Apache POI and Apache PDFBox
• 2 years Required: Experience with WAPT Pro, Jmeter, or other performance testing tools
• 3 years Preferred: Experience parsing WebTables to Verify Results
• 2 years Preferred: Previous experience with Zephyr Scale preferred
• 2 years Preferred: Previous experience with JIRA preferred

Requirements

• Contractor must have their own equipment (Laptop, monitor, etc.)
• Access to a virtual desktop set up (software) will be provided by Lumen’s client, allowing the user access to the required systems and technology.
