We are home to a talented community of survey researchers building robust solutions for government, university, and commercial clients.

ICF survey products aim to demonstrate quality, credibility, reliability, innovation, responsiveness, and transparency.

The Survey Research Science and Operations practice is seeking a Survey Manager . If successful, you will support a large-scale federal survey as well as a variety of projects across a wide array of topics and clients at the commercial and federal level, including aviation, transportation, and energy (various utilities). This role is well suited to a project manager who is highly organized, takes ownership of work, and is comfortable keeping multiple teams, tasks, deadlines, and dependencies moving at the same time.

You will be expected to provide support in the following three areas:

  • Project Management: You will manage the day-to-day activities of concurrent survey-related projects.
  • Business Development: You will support the team’s proposal and grant development activities; this includes written sections of proposals as well as internal and external networking and relationship management.
  • Technical Expertise: You will provide technical assistance to internal and external clients in association with the projects you manage as well as complete technical reports and other deliverables as required.

This is a great position for a mid-level professional who will join our team in a REMOTE capacity.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage concurrent survey-related projects, serving as the key point of contact to clients, providing excellent service, managing expectations, and producing products that demonstrate results.
  • Prepare project plans, manage schedules, and performance using effective project management processes and frameworks.
  • Create and track project budgets.
  • Keep multiple workstreams moving simultaneously by identifying next steps, assigning and following up on actions, managing dependencies, and escalating issues when needed.
  • Identify and coordinate with internal collaborators and outside subcontractors and vendors.
  • Proactively manage and communicate with a team of cross-matrixed professionals, ensuring smooth team operations and effective collaboration.
  • Contribute methodological or technical guidance in support of quantitative projects or tasks involving web, mail, telephone, in-person, and other data collection activities.
  • Contribute methodological or technical guidance in support of qualitative projects or tasks involving cognitive interviewing, one-on-one interviews, and/or focus groups.
  • Develop project quality assurance protocols, and ensure quality for all data, reports, and presentations.
  • Communicate effectively in writing—proposals, analytic reports, issue papers, briefings, and formal and informal email correspondence.
  • Develop and cultivate strong client relationships.
  • Anticipate risks, bottlenecks and dependencies and proactively implement solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Update leadership on progress as directed and on regular reporting cycles.
  • Actively participate in business development activities—managing the proposal process, and writing proposal sections.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of applied experience in the survey research field.
  • 2+ years of experience in survey project management, including coordinating teams and tasks, tracking completion of activities, managing schedules, monitoring project budget, and ensuring the quality of work products.
  • 2+ years of experience with MS Office products—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or professional skills.

Requirements

  • Experience managing and advancing multiple workstreams simultaneously, with strong organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work, independently drive tasks forward, and recognize when issues require escalation.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation and outstanding level of professionalism in providing client support.

Benefits

  • Reasonable Accommodations are available, including, but not limited to, for disabled veterans, individuals with disabilities, and individuals with sincerely held religious beliefs, in all phases of the application and employment process.
  • Pay Range: $74,090.00 - $125,954.00 based on full-time employment.
