[Hiring] Staff Technical Program Manager @Reddit

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Staff Technical Program Manager (IC5) who is a generalist across all things infrastructure. This role requires strong TPM skills paired with strong technical knowledge to effectively drive programs across the full breadth of Reddit's infrastructure stack. You will plan and execute complex, multi-team programs, from cluster migrations and storage modernization to Kafka client rollouts, with a deep understanding of the processes, trade-offs, and dependencies involved.

What you’ll do:

• Own and drive programs across the full breadth of Reddit's infrastructure stack, spanning Compute, Storage, Messaging, Transport, Core Platform, Ranking Platform, Security, and Compliance.
• Partner deeply with engineering teams as a technical peer, bringing programs to completion and balancing risk across frontend, backend, and revenue-producing teams.
• Ensure execution stays aligned to Reddit's long-term infrastructure strategy.
• Get Things Done: Bring programs to completion and deliver real accomplishments for the business.
• Dive into Details: Understand the details of programs and guide teams in active partnership.
• Make Work Repeatable: Create and improve processes that smooth the path for others.
• Leverage AI to Improve Program Outcomes: Use AI and LLM-assisted tooling to enhance program management workflows.
• Mentor & Lead: Aid others in developing key organizational and program skills.
• Bring Order out of Chaos: Leave programs and teams in a stronger organizational position.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of collective experience in engineering and program management roles.
• Strong technical depth and judgment, comfortable discussing Kubernetes orchestration, storage engines, messaging systems (Kafka), ML serving infrastructure, deployment pipelines, CDN and traffic management, and data platform architectures.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD systems, observability platforms, and container orchestration is highly valued.
• Strong Technical Program Management skills, with a proven track record driving large-scale migrations and deprecations in cloud infrastructure environments.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, capable of presenting cost narratives to Finance leadership and engineering directors.
• Experience working with observability and data platforms (Grafana, BigQuery, Hex, Looker, or similar).
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI/LLM tooling to improve program management workflows.
• A team player mentality with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
• Proactive and curious by nature, with a creative approach to problem-solving.
• Pragmatic, taking an iterative approach to developing processes and systems.
