Role Description

The Sr. Program Manager - Core Team Leader is a senior program leader accountable for the execution of multiple programs ensuring predictable delivery of business outcomes aligned with the long‑term growth strategy. The CTL operates as a strategic partner to Marketing, R&D, Clinical, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and Commercial teams, and serves as the primary champion for delivery excellence, governance rigor, cross‑functional decision‑making, and compliant execution of product development activities within the applicable quality management system. The portfolio includes Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm vascular products and Peripheral Vascular products.

Responsibilities

• Business & Portfolio Leadership:
  • Facilitate development of a product roadmap, including program selection, prioritization, value alignment, and optimization.
  • Establish and manage Strategic Plan (Strat Plan) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) budgets, timelines, and milestones.
  • Partner closely with marketing, R&D, clinical, and commercial leaders to ensure portfolio alignment.
  • Collaborate across functions to meet delivery, revenue, and margin commitments.
  • Champion best-in-class delivery processes, including Design for Reliability & Manufacturability and Voice of the Customer (VOC/VOX) integration.
• Program & Execution Leadership:
  • Form and lead high-performing, cross-functional Core Teams across multiple concurrent programs.
  • Accountable for disciplined program execution through rigorous planning and effective use of program management tools.
  • Serve as the strategic voice of their programs, representing high-level vision and technical details.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for trade-off decisions and issue resolution.
  • Lead resource planning discussions with functional organizations.
  • Ensure delivery of contracted commitments, performance metrics, and design transfer readiness.
  • Lead and coordinate product development activities in accordance with applicable design control and product realization requirements.
  • Ensure product and process risks are identified, evaluated, controlled, and escalated.
  • Partner with Quality and Regulatory to ensure complete, accurate, and timely development records.
• Customer & Market Focus:
  • Maintain strong awareness of global customer needs through regular engagement.
  • Participate in field activities, regional marketing events, trade shows, and industry seminars.
• Talent & Culture Leadership:
  • Mentor and coach Core Team Members in partnership with functional leaders.
  • Create an empowered, decision-oriented culture that encourages critical thinking.
  • Serve as a key member of the Innovation Delivery leadership team.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business administration, or a related field.
• A master's degree in business administration, engineering management, or specialized area relevant to the medical device industry is preferred.
• Advanced project management certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI), is highly desirable.
• Additional certifications or training in areas such as Lean Six Sigma, Agile methodologies, or specific industry standards are also highly desirable.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience leading cross‑functional, cross‑departmental programs, including 7+ years of advanced management and leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex programs with significant business impact.
• Proven experience partnering with marketing and/or commercial organizations.
• Strong background in program management and strategic decision‑making.
• Experience developing and presenting executive‑level business cases and financial models.
• Medical device industry experience, including new product development and commercialization is preferred.
• Exposure to medical device design controls, risk management, verification/validation, design transfer, clinical research, document and record control, CAPA/nonconformity processes, supplier controls, and global regulatory and quality system requirements is preferred.
• Experience developing clinician‑focused solutions is preferred.
• Demonstrated success leading in a diverse, global, matrixed organization is preferred.
