Role Description

We’re looking for a Service Change and Improvement Manager to join our Service Change and Improvement team and help shape how our services evolve for the future, on a fixed term contract until December 2028. This is an influential senior role where you’ll turn strategic priorities into practical, sustainable change.

  • Focus improvement where it can make the greatest difference to service delivery, reach and impact of services for people affected by dementia.
  • Lead complex change and improvement initiatives from insight gathering and discovery through to implementation, embedding and evaluation.
  • Manage and develop a team, enabling them to deliver high-quality change and improvements.
  • Create clarity, build momentum and help teams turn ideas into meaningful outcomes.
  • Bring together colleagues, stakeholders and people with lived experience to understand needs, identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Co-design evidence-informed solutions that are practical and deliverable.
  • Strengthen governance and prioritise, plan and oversee change and improvement.
  • Ensure initiatives are well planned, proportionate, aligned to organisational priorities and focused on measurable outcomes and benefits.
  • Combine strategic thinking with a practical approach, using evidence, collaboration and creativity to make change happen and last.

Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience of leading strategic and service change and improvement activity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience of working within the UK health and social care system.
  • Strong project, programme and change management capability.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Clear and authentic communication skills.
  • Proven experience of leading, coaching and developing a team.
  • Experience of using data, insight and feedback to identify opportunities.
  • Experience of assessing the impact of change and supporting adoption.
  • Commitment to involving people with lived experience meaningfully.
  • Strong commitment to inclusion and ensuring people living with dementia can participate.

Requirements

  • Lead significant service change and improvement initiatives, projects and programmes aligned with the Society’s strategic priorities.
  • Manage and develop the Service Change and Improvement team, setting clear priorities and supporting performance.
  • Use data, insight and feedback to identify inefficiencies and opportunities.
  • Establish and embed proportionate governance that supports confident decisions.
  • Work collaboratively across the organisation and with key stakeholders.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative evidence to identify opportunities and guide priorities.
  • Oversee implementation and support teams to adopt and embed new ways of working.
  • Plan and oversee projects to agreed cost, quality and timescales.
  • Manage risks, dependencies and changing priorities.
