Role Description

Leads a team of dedicated Project Managers. Manages, coaches, supports and develops Project Managers in managing projects according to defined Project Management policies, guidelines, programs and standards.

• Designs, develops and manages customer projects according to defined Project Management (PM) standards and customer requirements, with responsibility for economic results.
• Plans, coordinates, and supervises the implementation of Varian products with customers, contractors, and Varian internal stakeholders independently.
• Works on projects of diverse scope and significant dependencies, typically involving several HW and SW products, impacting complex sites or large multisite.
• Routinely works with Luminary, Strategic, Complex, or other high-visibility customers and projects.
• Supports/leads New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
• Contributes to pre-sales strategy, solution validation, and project feasibility assessments for complex deployments.
• Performs routine project management tasks to ensure customer compliance with technical requirements for equipment implementation and minor upgrades.
• Leads high-visibility strategic and cross-regional projects/programs involving multiple stakeholders across business units, geographies, and functions.
• Drives end-to-end transformation initiatives (e.g., multi-phase system upgrades, infrastructure modernization, and clinical workflow enhancements).
• Manages multiple projects concurrently.
• Participates in on-site visits and/or conference calls.
• Orchestrates cross-functional teams including Sales, Service, Installation, Clinical, IT, and external partners to ensure seamless delivery.
• Supports customers and contractors to prepare the facility for a successful and efficient implementation or upgrade.
• Provides qualified input and feedback with support from SMEs.
• Identifies and mitigates project risks and issues, proactively managing critical risks, escalations, and recovery scenarios to ensure minimal impact to customer operations and timelines.
• Coordinates resources and equipment shipment schedules.
• Provides reports indicating installation activities, including tight control of installation forecast.
• Acts as the primary interface for executive-level stakeholders, influencing decisions, managing expectations, and resolving conflicts in complex environments.
• Uses knowledge articles, authors, reviews, approves, and publishes Project Management related knowledge articles.
• Knowledge Cantered Services (KCS) Contributor/Publisher, may act as KCS Coach.
• May approve and publish customer-facing articles/documents.
• Provides feedback and works on process improvement, training, and documentation.
