[Hiring] Project Manager, Nature-Based Solutions @One Tree Planted

Role Description

The Project Manager is responsible for managing forest restoration and carbon-focused projects across Australia and supporting similar initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region. The role focuses on delivering high-quality nature-based solutions that generate verified climate, biodiversity, and community benefits. This position combines technical carbon project oversight, partner management, investor engagement, and project milestone delivery. The Project Manager works closely with implementing partners, investors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in compliance with contractual and carbon reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, forestry, conservation, ecology, natural resource management, or a related field; Master's degree a plus.
• Minimum 3-5 years experience managing large-scale environmental, forestry, restoration, or carbon-related projects; NBS projects preferred.
• Experience managing complex projects involving implementing partners and investors.
• Experience working with complex contracts, scopes of work, and partnership agreements.
• Experience working in Indonesia or SE Asia in environmental or climate programs is a plus.
• Experience engaging with corporate or institutional funders, including reporting and stakeholder communications, is highly desirable.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of nature-based solutions, forest restoration, and landscape-scale conservation.
• Knowledge of Australian carbon markets, including Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) methodologies, ERF frameworks, or voluntary carbon standards (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard) is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with project management tools, CRM systems, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with GIS, remote sensing, drone imagery, or environmental monitoring tools is an advantage.
• Highly responsible, organised, and a team player.
• Comfortable working remotely within a globally distributed team environment.

Benefits

• Typical starting range is $95,000 - $110,000 AUD (Local currency) based on skills and experience.
