Role Description

McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational resources, is looking for a Project Manager (Agile Content Delivery) for our School division. The Project Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the successful execution of agile programs, overseeing the coordination and operational aspects of multiple projects or product initiatives within an agile environment. This role requires strong organizational and problem-solving skills to oversee the day-to-day execution of the program, while maintaining alignment with business goals and customer needs.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role with an end date of 09/30/2028.

What you will be doing:

  • Agile Program Management: Support planning, execution, and delivery of complex agile programs by coordinating cross-functional teams, maintaining up-to-date scope documentation, and ensuring alignment across multiple product teams.
  • Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: Organize and lead key agile ceremonies (refinements, progressions, alignments, retrospectives, etc.) while ensuring consistent application of agile practices and resolving operational roadblocks.
  • Dependency & Risk Management: Identify, track, and manage cross-team dependencies and program risks, proactively escalating issues and coordinating mitigation strategies with relevant stakeholders.
  • Operational Support: Provide day-to-day support to agile teams by ensuring tools and resources are available and act as a liaison between technical, product, and business stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders through regular status reports, key metrics, and timely updates on program progress, risks, and scope changes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process optimization by identifying efficiency gains, supporting adoption of new tools and techniques, and fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge-sharing.
  • Program Documentation & Metrics: Ensure all program documentation (roadmaps, release plans, issue logs) is maintained and track performance metrics such as velocity and burn-down charts to guide data-driven decision-making.
  • Support Product & Technical Leadership: Collaborate closely with product managers and cross-functional leaders to align program objectives with business priorities and translate high-level goals into actionable team plans.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in a program or project coordination role, with at least 1 year in an agile environment and familiarity managing cross-functional programs across multiple agile teams.
  • Hands-on experience with agile project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or similar platforms to support program tracking and team coordination.
  • Strong understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and program management best practices, including dependency management, risk resolution, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities, with comfort engaging stakeholders at all levels β€” product, technical, and business leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills, with high attention to detail, a results-driven mindset, and the ability to work independently as a self-starter.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field β€” or equivalent professional experience in agile program or project management.

Requirements

  • Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, CSPO) and experience with large-scale agile frameworks such as SAFe or LeSS are a plus.
  • Prior experience in the EdTech industry, familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices, and experience coordinating global or distributed teams are all desirable.

Benefits

  • The pay range for this position is between $63,100 - $85,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
  • A full range of medical and/or other benefits may be provided, depending on the position offered.
