Role Description
Civix is seeking an experienced, PMP® certified Project Manager for our Business Services product division. The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall delivery success of Civix’s industry-leading SaaS-based Election Management solutions at the State and local government level.
- Manage the company’s relationship with the client and all stakeholders
- Act as primary contract manager ensuring contract compliance for all deliverables and adherence to all contracted provisions
- Show initiative and speak up; successfully present to groups of people without stage fright
- Not just track tasks from a high level but get down in the details, understand the problems, and come up with solutions
- Ability to create project plans to communicate implementation approach, deliverables, and estimates
- Ensure projects are delivered within the approved budget, schedule, and scope
- Secure acceptance and approval of deliverables from project sponsors and applicable stakeholders
- Ensure that the required project documentation is complete and archived
- Effectively manage resources to maximize efficiency and meet targets
- Manage and measure the team's performance of project tasks
- Produce project-related communication such as status reports, change logs, meeting notes, etc.
- Manage and support system integration testing, UAT, and production implementation
- Challenge the status quo; don’t just accept what is presented
- Responsible for providing and tracking estimates, forecasting, comparing actuals to forecast, and taking calculated corrective action as needed
Qualifications
- Excellent client-facing and internal written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Strong planning skills, prepare very detail task oriented and milestone driven plans, tracking these plans in MS Project and able to lead teams to adhere to a rigorous project schedule
- Proven work experience as a Project Manager for packaged as well as custom software implementations preferably with state government agencies
- Managed fixed-price/fixed-scope projects and effectively used and administered a change control process to control deviations from scope
- Managed projects where client is completely external to the organization and the only corporate relationship with the client is through a contract
- Managed software implementations across a spectrum of complexity and cost; preferred experience with contracts not less than $750,000
- Experience managing and adhering to written contracts between the company and the client
- Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project and Team Foundation Server
- Travel between 25% and 50% may be required during peak or critical path tasks that require an onsite presence with the client
Requirements
- Accountable for client & customer engagement processes with a bias towards customer responsiveness and satisfaction
- Developing & maintaining Civix project implementation processes & procedures to support the Civix functional teams with professional client engagement and delivery of requested initiatives
- Leading and engaging with Civix financial portfolio planning activities for diverse multiple platform product offerings
- Participate and lead in continuing program planning & execution of critical business initiatives – project status reporting, project and development methodologies and client road mapping
- Perform and execute additional duties as assigned
Education/Certification
- Candidate must be PMP® Certified with 5+ years of project management experience
- Prior experience managing State Government technology projects a major plus
- BS degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred
- Experience leveraging Agile methodologies and working knowledge delivering SaaS software solutions in AWS Cloud a plus
- Exceptional Written & Oral Presentation skills
