Role Description

We are seeking a Project Director, Commercial Nuclear Services - Remote. This remote position is based out of our Oak Ridge, TN office.

• Reports to the Senior Director of Commercial Nuclear Services.
• Responsible for all aspects of the work scope assigned to AtkinsRéalis new nuclear and fuel cycle projects.
• Leadership of all AtkinsRéalis project team members.
• Develop work execution plans, assignment or recruitment of project team members, development of overall work breakdown structure (WBS), project deliverables, organizational chart, budget, schedule, subcontract and supplier strategy, risk management, project forecast, and people forecasting and leveling for the project.
• Leads by example and sets high standards for Health & Safety and Nuclear Safety Culture.
• Assembles a project team through recruiting, interviewing, and/or selecting staff with appropriate skills.
• Accountable for all aspects of one or more projects within the assigned work scope.
• Develops all project scopes and deliverable definition in compliance with governing contract documents and quality requirements.
• Responsible for all contract management including scope & change control, requirements management, subcontractor and supplier management.
• Responsible for all aspects of nuclear and industrial safety.
• Applies appropriate key performance indicators to monitor project health and performance.
• Ensures all project activities are performed in accordance with corporate standards of ethical compliance.
• Ensures project procurement and subcontract management are aligned with risk management, quality requirements, schedule, and budget considerations.
• Applies project controls methodology with respect to planning and scheduling, baseline management, cost control, budgeting, cashflow, invoicing, cost and revenue forecasting, and resource management.
• Develops and implements detailed project execution plans and monitors their execution through comprehensive reporting.
• Performs rigorous risk analysis in accordance with corporate standards and industry best practices.
• Forms and maintains relationships with clients, partners, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Ensures all formal approvals for project bids, changes, and settlements are prepared and approved in accordance with corporate Level of Authority (LoA) procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 15 years commercial nuclear experience.
• Minimum of 10 years project management experience.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience leading teams.
• Experience working in a live Nuclear environment.
• Successful management experience.
• Demonstrated technical and management abilities, including proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to independently and critically review work products produced by Engineering teams.
• Ability to constructively interact with both internal and external customers.
• Self-starter who can work in a team environment with minimal direction and supervision.
• Applies experience and judgment with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
• Broad understanding of the challenges of building and maintaining strong multidiscipline teams.
• Experience in Nuclear Reactor new design and construction projects.
• Understanding of large EPC work including subcontracts and prime contract management.
• Understanding of nuclear supply chain and materials management principles.
• An appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer relationship skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of project delivery methodology including earned value and critical path scheduling.
• Working knowledge of industrial safety and nuclear safety culture.
• Experience working in an Integrated Project Delivery model.
• Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.
