The ideal candidate has experience leading enterprise or multi-sector applications, strong project/program management skills, and the ability to work effectively with both functional leadership and technical teams in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program & Strategy Leadership:
    • Own Salesforce program strategy, roadmap, and governance for supported business areas (Business Development, Environmental Sustainability, MS programs).
    • Translate business objectives into a cohesive Salesforce and enterprise application strategy that is scalable, secure, and user-focused.
    • Lead communities of practice or working groups to drive standards and best practices.
  • Team Management & Mentorship:
    • Lead a team of Salesforce Administrators/Developers, providing direction, prioritization, and coaching.
    • Set goals and expectations; mentor staff on technical and professional development.
    • Foster a collaborative culture of continuous improvement, accountability for project outcomes, and knowledge sharing.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Serve as primary point of contact for key stakeholders in Business Development, Environmental Sustainability, and MS programs.
    • Facilitate regular meetings with functional and program leadership to review priorities, roadmap, risks, and status.
    • Coordinate and, as appropriate, delegate requirements gathering, solution design reviews, and change management to ensure high user adoption.
  • Budget, SOW, and Vendor Management:
    • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and resource plans for the Salesforce program and associated applications.
    • Own and manage Statements of Work (SOWs) for internal and external delivery teams.
    • Partner with procurement, vendors, and internal stakeholders on contracts, renewals, technical services, and licensing.
  • Project & Portfolio Management:
    • Lead major projects involving Salesforce configuration, integrations, and enhancements.
    • Apply project management best practices for planning, execution, risk/issue management, and reporting.
    • Coordinate across initiatives to manage dependencies and balance short-term needs with long-term strategy.
  • Technical Oversight & Issue Resolution:
    • Work closely with developers and administrators to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
    • Ensure solutions adhere to security, compliance, and architectural standards.
    • Support incident and problem management processes for Salesforce and related applications.
  • Training & Change Management:
    • Lead trainings, demos, and office hours to drive adoption and effective use of Salesforce.
    • Oversee creation and maintenance of documentation, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and training materials.
    • Champion best practices and promote a culture of data stewardship and system ownership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant professional experience; or a Master's degree with 6 years of relevant professional experience; or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise or multi-sector applications (e.g., applications used across multiple business units, programs, or functions).

  • Strong project management experience, preferably in software or enterprise application delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including functional leadership and program managers.
  • Experience leading trainings, Q&A sessions, or communities of practice related to technology or process change.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with technical teams (developers, administrators, engineers) to address issues, clarify requirements, and guide solution approaches.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and priorities.
  • Ability to effectively lead and coordinate remote teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated continuous learning mindset and interest in understanding the technologies and platforms supported (e.g., Salesforce and related enterprise applications).

Preferred Qualifications
