[Hiring] Lead Technology Analyst @Southland Industries

Role Description

As Lead Technology Analyst for custom development within the Design Technologies team, you will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and external development partners, overseeing the delivery of custom development solutions for the detailers, engineers, BIM teams, and other groups integral to the design project lifecycle across Southland’s national footprint. This role will focus on driving standardization, improving process efficiency, and ensuring aligned delivery from external development partners.

The position will require managing the full lifecycle of development requests, managing change adoption, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience leading technology initiatives, software implementation projects, custom development efforts, or related programs.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk technologies, particularly Revit API and design workflows.
• Excellent active listening, communication, collaboration, and customer service skills to understand requests and ensure alignment.
• Familiarity with MEP processes, BIM, and construction project workflows.
• Excellent program management skills and ability to manage timelines and resources.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to meet people where they are and assist them through change management to reach desired outcomes.
• Ability and willingness to support and provide guidance to less experienced team members.

Experience with the following is not required, but a plus:

• Revit API
• GitHub, Visual Studio, or related development tools
• Halo or similar IT service management platforms
• Agile, Scrum, or other software development lifecycle methodologies

Requirements

• Effectively build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including Design Technologies, AEC Technologies, Engineering, IT, Operations, and Divisional leadership.
• Act as the primary liaison between Southland and external development partners.
• Present custom development strategies, updates, and solution capabilities to employees at all organizational levels.
• Engage with industry groups, technology partners, and trade organizations.
• Collaborate with divisional teams to analyze business processes and workflows.
• Lead the evaluation, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise custom development solutions.
• Develop and maintain scalable development lifecycle processes.
• Lead end-to-end implementation of custom development solutions.
• Manage development backlogs, releases, and request prioritization.
• Coordinate and oversee user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Collaborate with external development partners to resolve defects and enhance functionality.
• Lead change management efforts for custom development initiatives.
• Partner with business leaders and key stakeholders to prepare teams for process and technology changes.
• Establish feedback loops to gather user input and measure adoption.
• Serve as ongoing support for custom development design solutions.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and knowledge management resources.
• Develop and execute communication, training, and rollout strategies for custom development solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure custom development initiatives align with team strategy.
• Establish and maintain development standards, practices, and delivery processes.
• Drive enterprise-wide standardization of custom development solutions.
• Prioritize custom development initiatives based on user metrics and business value.
