[Hiring] Sr. Product Manager @WEX

Role Description

WEX is looking for a Sr. Product Manager with strong technical fluency and payments expertise to own the execution and delivery of our embedded payments product roadmap. This role emphasizes creating a simple, proactive, and personalized experience.

• Own the strategy, roadmap, discovery, and end-to-end delivery for an embedded payments product or core payment platform capability.
• Build a deep understanding of embedded payments customers, partners, market dynamics, and competitive offerings.
• Lead customer-centric discovery and translate insights into actionable product requirements, hypotheses, and prioritized roadmaps.
• Partner closely with engineering on payment APIs, platform capabilities, and architecture trade-offs.
• Lead product delivery with 1-2 Scrum teams, aligning teams around the problem to solve.
• Use qualitative and quantitative data to assess product performance and evaluate customer adoption.
• Collaborate across product, engineering, analytics, UX, and relevant business partners.
• Identify opportunities to modernize payment infrastructure and close capability gaps.
• Use AI tools thoughtfully to improve productivity and explore product opportunities.
• Apply a risk-aware mindset to product decisions, including due diligence and compliance review processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in product management, with 2+ years in payments, fintech, or embedded finance.
• Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree is a plus.
• Understanding of how features interface with overall product vision.
• Learning mindset to develop and test hypotheses.
• 2+ years of experience building payments products, ideally embedded payments/payments APIs.
• Deep understanding of payments infrastructure — authorization/settlement flows, card networks, ACH/wire rails.
• Experience partnering with engineering on API design (REST/webhooks).
• Familiarity with payments-adjacent regulatory or risk considerations is a plus.
• Strong ability to think through unifying elements and common denominators.
• Familiarity with big data frameworks.
• Data-driven approach for customer understanding, roadmap prioritization, and measuring success.
• Ability to work in an agile fashion; go broad to go narrow; build, test, iterate.
• Ability to nurture various projects in parallel, at different stages of maturity and velocity.

Requirements

• Experience in embedded payments, fintech, or developer-first platform products is a plus.
• Experience with payment APIs, developer portals, sandbox environments, partner integrations, or data and event streams.
• Experience modernizing payment infrastructure or closing gaps between existing platform capabilities and market expectations.
• Familiarity with payments-related risk, regulatory, or compliance considerations.
