We are looking for a commercially minded, customer-focused leader who takes pride in driving growth, influencing strategy, and delivering exceptional business results. In this role, you will lead portfolio strategy, identify new market opportunities, and collaborate across departments to bring innovative products and solutions to market. Leveraging customer insights, market intelligence, and strong business acumen, you will play a key role in shaping product strategies that strengthen AMSOIL's position as an industry leader.

This position has remote work capability.

What you will own:

  • Portfolio Strategy and Planning
    • Develop and execute a strategic plan for portfolios aligned with company goals, customer needs, market opportunities, and financial expectations.
    • Own portfolio architecture, product positioning, pricing strategy, product mix, lifecycle decisions, and long-range portfolio priorities.
    • Assess portfolio performance and recommend investments, improvements, rationalization, or end-of-life actions to improve revenue, margin, and strategic fit.
    • Prioritize new product and customer opportunities based on market potential, strategic alignment, resource requirements, profitability, and probability of success.
    • Lead category planning across B2B, B2C, distribution, and private-label channels.
  • Go-to-Market and Commercial Leadership
    • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies covering product, price, place, promotion, and people.
    • Define target markets, customer segments, buyer needs, value propositions, competitive positioning, channel strategies, and launch plans.
    • Partner with Sales to support customer opportunities, strengthen sales effectiveness, and develop tools that clearly communicate product value.
    • Provide strategic support for distributor relationships, channel engagement, and commercial programs.
    • Guide private-label opportunities by assessing customer requirements, portfolio fit, competitive considerations, operational complexity, and financial return.
    • Engage with customers, distributors, and industry partners to gather insights, validate opportunities, and strengthen market understanding.
  • Product Lifecycle and New Product Development
    • Lead the product lifecycle from opportunity identification and business case development through launch, growth, optimization, and end-of-life.
    • Lead cross-functional Stage Gate initiatives and ensure market, customer, financial, operational, technical, and commercialization requirements are clearly defined.
    • Coordinate product launches, including positioning, pricing, claims, naming, packaging, sales readiness, channel readiness, and performance measurement.
    • Manage multiple complex projects and customer opportunities while maintaining clear priorities, ownership, timelines, risks, and decision points.
  • Market Intelligence and Customer Insights
    • Conduct market research to monitor customer needs, industry trends, competitor offerings, emerging technologies, regulatory considerations, applications, and pricing.
    • Use quantitative and qualitative insights to identify growth opportunities, market gaps, portfolio risks, and competitive threats.
    • Translate technical performance and application requirements into customer-focused value propositions and differentiated market positioning.
    • Establish a fact-based understanding of market size, addressable opportunity, customer economics, channel dynamics, and competitive alternatives.
  • Financial Ownership and Performance Management
    • Develop and track portfolio forecasts, growth plans, revenue, gross margin, pricing performance, and other key business measures.
    • Support budgeting, demand planning, and S&OP processes with clear assumptions, risks, and opportunities.
    • Evaluate pricing actions, cost changes, profitability, investment requirements, and business cases.
    • Define success measures for portfolio initiatives and communicate results, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Content, Claims, and Sales Enablement
    • Lead the development of compelling product messaging, value propositions, claims, and technical-to-commercial content across relevant channels.
    • Partner with technical and regulatory teams to ensure product claims are accurate, supportable, differentiated, and appropriate for the intended market.
    • Guide development of sales tools, training, product literature, digital content, competitive comparisons, and launch materials.
    • Ensure consistent portfolio messaging across B2B, B2C, distribution, and private-label applications.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Influence and align cross-functional teams without relying solely on formal authority.
    • Create clarity around priorities, ownership, tradeoffs, customer commitments, and business decisions.
    • Present portfolio strategies, business cases, recommendations, and performance updates to senior leadership.
    • Mentor and support Product Marketing Coordinators or other team members as assigned.
