[Hiring] Senior Product Developer @McGraw Hill LLC.

YDay - McGraw Hill LLC. is hiring a remote Senior Product Developer. πŸ’Έ Salary: usd 54,500 - 82,000 per year πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

McGraw-Hill Higher Education Product Developers create and deliver engaging, efficient, and effective digital learning experiences and validated assessments for courses in higher education. Product Developers oversee content quality by conceptualizing, developing, shaping, and editing intellectual property for digital and print delivery while managing and coordinating the efforts of authors, contributors/SMEs, and production & digital platform teams. Product Developers transform good content into value-added experiences that meet learning outcomes and exceed customer expectations.

The Senior Product Developer leads complex product development work and is accountable for product coherence, educational integrity, customer value, and informed decision-making across the lifecycle. This role resolves ambiguity, leads high-impact author and partner relationships, mentors others, and balances learning quality, accessibility, trust, market relevance, course stability, speed, and cost.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading development strategy and executing complex, high-impact, or multi-component products, establishing clear outcomes, quality criteria, review approaches, and evidence-based release plans.
  • Synthesizing customer research, learning and usage analytics, competitive evidence, correction patterns, and business context to make and defend product-level decisions.
  • Ensuring coherence across narrative content, assessments, adaptive experiences, instructor resources, media, accessibility, metadata, and digital implementation.
  • Leading authors, subject-matter experts, reviewers, suppliers, and cross-functional partners through difficult tradeoffs, scope changes, quality concerns, and iterative releases.
  • Defining fit-for-purpose human-review controls for AI-assisted content and workflows; approve outputs within assigned scope and escalate material academic, legal, privacy, bias, provenance, or trust risks.
  • Mentoring Product Developers, improving practices, and leading cross-functional initiatives that strengthen customer experience, learning quality, development effectiveness, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; related advanced coursework or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 5 years of product management and product development.
  • 2-3 years of experience managing digital product development.
  • Customer-centered judgment grounded in instructor and student evidence.
  • Knowledge of learning science, instructional design, assessment quality, accessibility, and universal design.
  • Ability to use data and qualitative evidence to make and explain product decisions.
  • Responsible use of AI-assisted workflows, including verification, bias awareness, source traceability, and human review.
  • Clear communication and collaboration with authors, subject-matter experts, vendors, and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to work in iterative, evergreen development models while protecting product coherence and course stability.
  • Proven success leading complex product work and influencing decisions without relying on formal authority.
  • Strong developmental judgment, business awareness, data interpretation, and negotiation skills.

Benefits

  • The pay range for this position is between $54,500 - $82,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
  • A full range of medical and/or other benefits may be provided, depending on the position offered.
