[Hiring] Product Manager @Watchmaker Genomics

Role Description

Watchmaker is inviting applications for the full-time position of Product Manager, NGS to support our NGS portfolio. This position reports to the Senior Product Manager, DNA, and is responsible for an assigned set of products within our expanding NGS DNA portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, and advanced genomics applications.

The position provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience in both product development and cross-functional management to complement a strong technical background.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an organizational expert and champion for the DNA NGS portfolio.
• Translate market and customer needs into prioritized product requirements.
• Partner with sales to engage with key customers and cultivate collaborations.
• Translate customer, market, competitive, and technical insights into product strategy.
• Manage all product management facets of product commercialization and lifecycle management.
• Manage cross-functional collaborations (R&D, Support, Sales, Quality, and Operations).
• Develop and execute product and application strategies for assigned portfolio areas.
• Own lifecycle performance for assigned products, monitoring revenue and product performance.
• Create and maintain competitive assessments, market trends, and product performance.
• Lead portfolio communication and stakeholder alignment across the organization.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated technical expertise in NGS workflows, including library preparation, sequencing, and data interpretation.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Results-oriented, with the ability to multitask and work without supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work as an effective member of a team.
• Excellent communication and personal task management skills.
• Proven ability to influence & gain consensus in cross-functional teams.
• Experience in presenting technical information to groups with various scientific backgrounds.
• Creative and critical thinking skills to anticipate customer needs.
• Track record of success defining and launching products.
• Experience in documenting customer/product requirements.

Requirements

• MSc degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or an associated scientific field required.
• Minimum of 4 years industry relevant experience, including R&D.
• Product Management experience is preferred and customer-facing roles considered a plus.
• Experience being part of a new product development core team or project required.
• This position requires approximately 20% travel (domestic and international).

Benefits

• Base compensation starts at $110,000 - $130,000 + bonus + equity.
