[Hiring] Group Product Manager @H&R Block

Role Description

The Group Product Manager, SMB Accounting is a strategic product leader responsible for owning the core accounting and bookkeeping experience at the heart of the Wave/Small Business product suite.

• Manage a team of Product Managers in a coach-player role.
• Lead the team in translating strategy into execution, ensuring product outcomes align with business and customer needs.
• Manage product budgets and promote best practices in product development and discovery.
• Define and lead the product vision, strategy, roadmap, OKRs, and success metrics for the SMB Accounting group.
• Own accounting/bookkeeping product decisions balancing usability, accuracy, and compliance.
• Partner closely with Tax and cross-platform counterparts to unify accounting and tax workflows.
• Own and evolve the mobile accounting experience, establishing the roadmap and driving alignment across stakeholders.
• Develop a high-performing team utilizing continuous product discovery best practices.
• Inspire, align, and influence across engineering, design, and business functions.
• Craft logical business cases and define and execute business and customer benefit OKRs.
• Identify where AI can improve team productivity and customer value.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through retrospectives and coaching.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data-related field, or a related discipline.
• Direct experience in the small business accounting or tax software space.
• Proven experience defining and delivering mobile product experiences.
• Deep SaaS product-building experience, ideally in financial or business services.
• Strong people leadership experience, including leading Product Managers.
• Proven ability to define product strategy and prioritize investments across multiple teams.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong business acumen, including experience building business cases and evaluating trade-offs.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in product management, including leading large mission-critical products.
• Minimum of 2+ years in managing people.
• Direct experience in the small business accounting or tax software space.
• Mobile product delivery experience.
