Role Description

Asset Management keeps our customers' instruments working, whoever made them. The practice covers:

• Multi-vendor service and preventive maintenance across every OEM in the estate
• Repair and break-fix
• Calibration
• The full asset lifecycle from onboarding and laboratory relocation to decommission and disposal
• Estate record management, including physical inventory, RFID tagging, and standardized asset data
• Commercial control layer of procurement, vendor management, entitlement tracking, benchmarking, and spend consolidation

The Practice Director owns Asset Management globally as a product. Responsibilities include:

• Defining what the practice sells, why customers buy it, what it costs to deliver, how it is priced, and how it evolves
• Accountability for revenue, growth, and profit
• Enabling the commercial organization to sell the product
• Providing service design, methodology, standards, and capability for operational delivery
• Building market capability and representing the organization as a recognized authority

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering, technical, or scientific discipline and 12 or more years of progressive experience in asset management, field service, or technical services, including at least 5 years with commercial ownership of a service line, practice, or portfolio and at least 5 years leading teams
• OR Advanced degree (MSc, PhD, or MBA) in a relevant discipline and 10 or more years of progressive experience with the same commercial and leadership content
• OR An equivalent combination of education and experience

Requirements

• Ownership of a services offering with accountability for revenue, growth, and margin
• Offering management discipline applied to services: market assessment, value proposition definition, pricing and packaging, lifecycle management
• Deep credibility in multi-vendor asset, instrument, or field service operations within regulated (GxP) environments
• Partnering with product and technology teams to turn a service into a digitally enabled one
• Command of vendor and spend economics behind a service
• Track record of designing and launching new services and scaling them to profitable delivery
• Influence without authority across a global matrix
• Recruiting, developing, and retaining senior engineering and technical experts

Benefits

• Annual compensation range of $190,000 to $230,000 + Bonus
• Final base pay determined by internal equity, work location, and individual qualifications

Working Environment

• Role may be based on the East Coast of the United States
• Travel of up to approximately 30 to 40 percent to customer sites, company locations, partner sites, and industry events
• Must be able to work in a laboratory or controlled environment requiring personal protective equipment
• Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25 percent of the time
• Occasionally move or lift up to 25 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close range and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Potential risk from lab-based hazards including extreme temperature, biological materials, and hazardous chemicals
