[Hiring] Director of Product Management, Platform @Cobalt

4d ago - Cobalt is hiring a remote Director of Product Management, Platform. πŸ’Έ Salary: $183,000 - $230,000 per year πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

Cobalt is hiring a Director of Product Management, Platform to own the product surfaces that connect our pentesting offerings to the rest of a customer's security and business stack, and that make those offerings easy to evaluate, configure, and scale. This is a newly created role on the Product leadership team, reporting to the VP of Product Management, with direct accountability for:

  • Platform architecture decisions
  • Partner and integration ecosystem
  • Pricing and packaging mechanics
  • Access and permissions models
  • Operational backbone (tooling, metrics, content)

You will lead a team spanning Customer Experience, Product Operations, and Platform/Integrations PMs, and you will be the primary product partner to Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and Security/Compliance stakeholders on anything that touches how customers connect to, configure, and pay for Cobalt. This is a high-visibility, build-and-scale role: you'll inherit a working integrations program and a clear mandate to mature it into a defensible platform and ecosystem strategy.

What You'll Own

  • Platform & Integrations Strategy: Define and execute the roadmap for Cobalt's integration ecosystem, including build-vs-partner decisions and a prioritization framework tied to revenue and retention impact.
  • Ecosystem & Partnerships: Own the product side of technology partnerships β€” API/webhook strategy, partner onboarding requirements, and joint roadmap alignment with strategic integration partners.
  • Pricing & Packaging: Partner with Finance, Sales, and the VP of Product to design and evolve pricing and packaging across the tiered portfolio.
  • Roles, Permissions & Access (RBAC): Own the roadmap for role-based access control, authentication, and customer administration capabilities that meet enterprise security and compliance expectations.
  • Customer Experience Alignment: Absorb and elevate the Customer Focus charter, ensuring platform decisions are grounded in real customer workflows.
  • Product Operations Leadership: Oversee the operating rhythm of the Product org, including roadmap cadence, QBRs, and usage/experience metrics.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of PMs and product operations professionals; set goals and coach for growth.
  • Cross-Functional Execution: Partner closely with Engineering leads and Design to translate platform strategy into epics, acceptance criteria, and shippable releases.

What Success Looks Like in the First Year

  • A published platform and integration roadmap, prioritized against a clear framework, with at least one new strategic integration shipped.
  • A documented pricing/packaging model for tier-based feature and integration entitlements, adopted by Sales and Finance.
  • An RBAC and permissions framework that closes known enterprise/compliance gaps.
  • A unified Product Operations cadence running reliably across the org.
  • A team of PMs operating with clear ownership and strong cross-functional trust.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in product management, including 3+ years in a people-leadership role (Director, Group PM, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience owning platform, integrations, or ecosystem products.
  • Direct experience with pricing and packaging design for a multi-tier or multi-product SaaS portfolio.
  • Working knowledge of access control, authentication, and enterprise security/compliance requirements.
  • A track record of leading product operations or platform functions that support an entire product organization.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Requirements

  • Bonus: experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or pentesting/offensive security domains.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Jira/Confluence, and Pendo.

Benefits

  • Grow in a passionate, rapidly expanding industry.
  • Work directly with experienced senior leaders with ongoing mentorship opportunities.
  • Earn competitive compensation and an attractive equity plan.
  • Save for the future with a 401(k) program (US) or pension (EU).
  • Benefit from medical, dental, vision and life insurance (US) or statutory healthcare (EU).
  • Leverage stipends for wellness, work-from-home equipment & wifi, and learning & development.
  • Make the most of our flexible, generous paid time off and paid parental leave.
