Role Description

In this critical role, you'll leverage your expertise in biology, machine learning, and product management to shape the future of our foundation model, ensuring it meets the complex needs of our customers in the biomedical industry. You'll work closely with co-founders, R&D, and business development teams, using your knowledge to translate complex biological concepts into valuable product features that solve real-world problems.

  • Product Strategy: Craft and articulate a compelling product vision and strategy that aligns with our mission. Leverage your understanding of biology and of the biomedical industry to identify opportunities where our foundation model can offer unique value, particularly in areas such as drug discovery, personalized medicine, and diagnostics.
  • Product Development: Work closely with engineering and scientific teams to ensure scalability, reliability, reproducibility, and performance of the product. Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators that measure the product's success and impact. Maintain a global roadmap of our products.
  • Go-to-Market: Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop go-to-market strategies, ensuring that the product's value proposition is clearly communicated to the biomedical community. Engage with customers to gather insights and feedback, using your understanding of the biomedical industry to discuss specific case studies and demonstrate the model's value in addressing their needs.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related field.
  • Substantial experience in proteomics, genomics, transcriptomics, images or clinical data analysis for biomedical research.
  • Deep understanding of how deep learning / representation learning can be used to accelerate biomedical research on protein, omics, histological or clinical data.
  • Experience in product development, ideally in the biotech, medtech, or AI industries, with a focus on biological applications (target identification, diagnostics, drug development etc).
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and engage high level external stakeholders, partners and clients.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Passion for leveraging AI to drive innovation in the biomedical field.

Requirements

  • Dual background in biological sciences and machine learning.
  • Direct experience of developing / leveraging Foundation Model to accelerate biomedical research.
  • Previous experience in a high-growth, fast-paced lab, biotech or AI company.
  • Community Builder, biology x tech communities enthusiast (Bits in Bio…).
