Role Description
The AI ML Product Manager will support our AIML Engineering organization as a senior contributor and mentor as we develop new AI products and deploy these products into production systems. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between innovation and practical application, ensuring seamless integration and timely execution of AI projects. This role plays a particularly important role in driving AIML research and development activity.
- Ensure alignment with business goals, conduct market research, and gather customer insights to drive innovative solutions.
- Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation and development to launch and iteration, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver impactful products that meet market demands and drive business growth.
Main Duties
- Efficiently coordinate efforts via real-time and asynchronous activity between the two globally distributed engineering teams - AIML R&D and AIML Data & Platform Engineering.
- Effectively drive the roadmap for AIML R&D working with senior scientists and ML engineering managers to prioritize research, experimentation, and AI tool releases.
- Actively support teams in defining product requirements, prioritizing features, and managing the product backlog.
- Oversee the product development lifecycle, from AI product ideation through research and library development to documentation and observability tooling.
- Manage data collection activities in coordination with cross-functional teams to supply AI R&D teams with necessary data.
- Serve as a liaison between stakeholders, including local PM teams and globally based Business Development teams.
- Create and maintain detailed product documentation, including user stories, use cases, and functional specifications.
- Identify resources that aid in measuring product impact and create models that estimate impact over time.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure that feedback is accurately captured and addressed.
- Drive development of application and infrastructure monitoring dashboards and support both AIML team and end users in developing BI visualizations.
- Provide training and support to internal teams and end-users on new AI tools and functionalities.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to junior Product staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management.
- Background in Machine Learning and AI Technologies.
- Background in linguistics, computational linguistics, translation a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years in product management, technical project management, or software engineering specifically building AIML technologies.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing product development processes.
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communications in English (minimum C2 level).
- Ability to develop written and visual communications that convey complex technical concepts to non-technical and technical audiences.
- Strong understanding of iterative research and experimentation processes in the AIML space.
- Advanced understanding of AI and machine learning research, concepts, and technologies.
- Ability to maturely handle stakeholder interactions across a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong SQL skills and ability to translate business questions into useful queries.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct market research and competitive analysis.
- Outstanding proficiency in using product management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Jellyfish or similar platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic global environment.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
- Ability to prioritize complex product landscape with shifting priorities.
