[Hiring] Operations Manager @National Debate Club

Role Description

We're looking for a Class Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our after-school class program while also serving as an instructor. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends program management, parent communication, staff oversight, and direct teaching.

Classes run in the evenings after school, so this role requires consistent evening availability. Extended hours may occasionally be needed during peak seasons.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, providing timely, professional communication
• Coordinate substitute instructors and manage scheduling across the class program
• Maintain and uphold teaching quality standards across all classes
• Manage and support a team of approximately 30 part-time instructors
• Support staff and families to ensure a positive program experience
• Assist with curriculum development and help keep instruction consistent across classes
• Teach classes as part of your regular schedule

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 2+ years of competitive debate experience
• Experience in education
• Availability to work one weekend day
• Availability for afternoon and evening hours, typically 2:00-10:00 PM CT

Requirements

• Demonstrated competitive debate success (e.g., elimination rounds at major tournaments)
• Experience in an administrative role
• 2+ years of debate education experience

Benefits

• $60,000 annual salary, plus an end-of-year performance-based bonus.
