Role Description

We're looking for an Operations Lead to help scale manufacturing operations for a growing food CPG company. Qualifications

• Proven experience in US consumer packaged goods (CPG), particularly food manufacturing.
• Experience managing or scaling manufacturing operations and working directly with manufacturing partners, suppliers, or production teams.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, demand planning, production scheduling, and supply chain coordination.
• Experience implementing operational systems, inventory platforms, or ERP solutions and coordinating adoption with external partners.
• Experience identifying process improvements that increase capacity, improve efficiency, or reduce operational costs.
• Financial and analytical skills, including experience tracking manufacturing costs, COGS, budgets, or operational performance.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep stakeholders accountable.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work directly with founders, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Fluent English, with strong proficiency communicating in US business environments.
• Comfortable with periodic travels.

Requirements

• Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations and maintain close relationships with manufacturing partners, suppliers, and farmers.
• Stay on top of production schedules, manufacturing capacity, inventory levels, and operational needs, working closely with the Demand Planner.
• Identify and qualify new manufacturing partners and ingredient suppliers, particularly in Mexico, to support current and future product lines.
• Visit manufacturing facilities periodically to assess operations, strengthen partnerships, and support implementation initiatives.
• Lead the implementation and rollout of the company's inventory management system, ensuring manufacturing partners and relevant vendors can use it effectively.
• Coordinate with the Demand Planner and Logistics Coordinator on production planning, inbound and outbound logistics, and inventory visibility.
• Improve operational processes, workflows, and collaboration across suppliers, manufacturing partners, and internal teams.
• Work with tools such as Shopify, ERP systems, and Crystal EDI to improve operational visibility and coordination.
• Develop and execute strategies to increase manufacturing capacity, improve efficiency, and support business growth.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements across production, filling, packaging, and related operations.
• Source and evaluate equipment and operational solutions, balancing potential impact, quality, and budget constraints.
• Build a prioritized roadmap for equipment investments and automation, with clear expectations for capacity improvements and cost savings.
• Own the manufacturing and operations P&L, monitoring cost of goods sold (COGS) and identifying opportunities to reduce costs.
• Track operational performance and communicate progress, risks, and improvement opportunities to the founders.
• Manage and support the Demand Planner, providing direction and ensuring planning, logistics, and vendor relationships remain organized and effective.
• Partner directly with the CEO and co-founders to execute operational priorities and reduce their involvement in day-to-day manufacturing activities.
