Role Description

The MRO Buyer reports to the Purchasing Leader. This role is responsible for MRO and indirect procurement activities, including sourcing, contract management, purchase order management, and cost savings initiatives, ensuring best practices and optimal total cost of ownership for the Muzquiz site and other assigned areas.

The role will primarily focus on operational procurement activities, including:

• PO issuance
• Order confirmation follow-up
• Delivery tracking
• KPI compliance
• End-to-end purchase order lifecycle management to support business continuity and operational efficiency

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage the transactional procurement process from requisition to PO closure, ensuring timely order placement, supplier communication, delivery follow-up, and resolution of operational issues.
• Maintain procurement performance metrics, supporting uninterrupted operations, and ensuring efficient execution of the purchase order lifecycle across assigned categories and business areas.
• Proactively resolve issues with suppliers and internal customers using organizational expertise, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Build trust-based, service-oriented, value-added relationships with vendors, internal customers, teammates, and cross-departments.
• Align stakeholders and internal support necessary for successful project implementation.
• Effectively conduct negotiations and manage supplier selection to meet quality, service, and cost requirements.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers, review, and ensure the performance of suppliers to ensure contract compliance and internal customer satisfaction.
• Implement sourcing projects for standardization, preferred supplier utilization, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.
• Research and analyze appointments received, selected or recommended providers.
• Conduct preferred vendor analysis and reporting, savings project completion, vendor savings validations, inflation, inventory history, utilization/consumption, etc.
• Develop RFI/RFP/RFQ for new and existing products and services.
• Obtain goods and services from suppliers in a cost-effective manner while remaining consistent in quality, delivery, and project priority.
• Initiate and coordinate specific cost reduction programs and deliver cost savings targets.
• Assist with other/specific projects as needed.
• Develop and execute strategic sourcing activities for allocated spend categories, leveraging industry best practices, commodity expertise, sourcing methodology, and global partnerships whenever possible, under the oversight of the NA MRO and the indirect purchasing manager.

Qualifications

• University degree with career to finish preferably.
• Experience in management projects.
• Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience (proficient in negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing processes).
• Advanced English level (conversational, C1).
• Analytical capacity and computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Preferably experience in various industry sites.
