Role Description

Our portfolio company is hiring a Director of Operations to run the business day to day so the founders can focus on strategic execution. You will lead the corporate team and own the operating systems behind our studios, including:

• People operations
• Recruiting
• Call center
• Inventory and warehouse operations
• Payroll
• Facilities
• Vendors
• Compliance coordination
• Weekly operating cadence

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will:

• Make decisions and solve operating problems directly.
• Build the people and processes that prevent those problems from returning.
• Be comfortable moving between various operational issues on the same day.

Qualifications

• Experience leading operations across multiple brick-and-mortar locations.
• Direct experience with payroll, recruiting, performance management, facilities, vendor management, inventory, scheduling, or call-center operations.
• Evidence of leading a team while remaining close enough to diagnose problems and act quickly.
• Sound judgment about decision-making processes.
• A practical approach to tools, contractors, automation, and AI.
• Clear written and verbal communication with strong follow-through.
• Ability to meet travel requirements and work effectively from a remote base near a major US airport.

Requirements

• Lead day-to-day operations across the studio network, corporate team, call center, scheduling, inventory, and warehouse.
• Own recruiting, performance management, talent reviews, and workforce planning.
• Build and run scorecards, operating reviews, and a weekly accountability cadence.
• Run payroll and back-office administration accurately and on time.
• Make facilities, vendor, and location-spend decisions within agreed authority limits.
• Coordinate the operational response to labor, compliance, and legal matters.
• Identify recurring operating problems and install processes to prevent repeat failures.
• Resolve routine operating decisions and provide clear updates to founders.
