Role Description
The Director of ABL Operations leads the operational infrastructure supporting the Bank's Asset Based Lending portfolio and commercial loans with borrowing bases. This role is responsible for collateral operations, operational risk management, servicing processes, vendor oversight, regulatory compliance, operational controls, technology initiatives, and team leadership. The Director partners closely with Credit, Portfolio Management, Originations, Underwriting, Relationship Management, Risk, Audit, and Technology teams to ensure scalable, efficient, and compliant operations supporting portfolio growth.
Your Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Develop and execute the operational strategy for ABL servicing and collateral management.

Align operational capabilities with business growth objectives.

Lead operational integration efforts associated with acquisitions, portfolio purchases, and mergers.

Risk & Controls
-
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and operational risk standards.

Oversee issue management, audit remediation, business continuity planning, and control effectiveness.

Maintain governance over access management and operational approvals.

Operations Management
-
Direct all ABL servicing, collateral monitoring, and structural services activities, including collateral monitoring system administration and maintenance, deal onboarding, facility implementation, all balancing functions, system setup, and portfolio boarding.

Establish scalable operating procedures and performance standards.

Drive continuous process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.

Technology & Vendor Management
-
Own operational systems strategy and roadmap.

Lead system implementations, upgrades, and conversions.

Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.

Executive Partnership
-
Serve as a key liaison among ABL leadership, Risk, Audit, Finance, Operations, and Technology.

Provide reporting, analytics, and operational insights to senior management.

Talent Leadership
-
Build, develop, and retain a high-performing operations team.

Establish succession planning and leadership development programs.

Financial Management
-
Complete analysis for gearing and other inputs for the Head of ABL to complete financial analysis and budgeting.

Identify cost-saving and operational efficiency opportunities.

Performance Management
-
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).

Use metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement.

Change Management

Lead organizational change initiatives and ensure successful adoption of new processes and technologies.

Regulatory Engagement

Support regulatory examinations and respond to examiner inquiries when required.

Performing other duties as assigned, adapting to new tasks or shifts in priorities as necessary to support your teamβs and the companyβs mission.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

10+ years of banking, commercial finance, asset-based lending, or related financial services experience.

5+ years of people leadership experience.

Experience managing operational risk, controls, and regulatory compliance programs.

Experience leading cross-functional projects and operational change initiatives.

Demonstrated success managing large-scale operational processes and teams.
