Role Description

Charlie Health is hiring a Substance Abuse Group Facilitator to deliver remote, telehealth substance use disorder (SUD) group treatment to our adolescent and adult clients in Washington. This is a substance-abuse-focused group facilitation role: you will lead recovery-oriented groups grounded in evidence-based SUD care, supporting clients through both abstinence and harm-reduction approaches. Weโ€™re eager to work with forward-thinking, credentialed SUD professionals to enhance our programming and provide the best possible care to our clients.

Availability: This role facilitates SUD groups every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 5:00โ€“8:00 PM Pacific Time. Facilitators must be reliably available for the full three-hour block on each of these evenings. You should also plan to arrive approximately 10 minutes before each group and to participate in required Treatment Team and Group Supervision touchpoints.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all onboarding requirements within 2 weeks of initial contracting date.
  • Meet with your assigned Charlie Health Group Quality Supervisor or Group Quality Director at a minimum of 1x/month for check-ins and support.
  • Maintain professional and prompt communication via email and Slack with Primary Therapists, Care Coaches, and staff.
  • Review the curriculum aligned to group assignment before group start time.
  • Arrive ~10 minutes early to scheduled group time and facilitate all groups for the entirety of the session.
  • Facilitate groups following Charlie Health best practices.
  • Foster a supportive environment and guide clients in activities to develop skills for long-term recovery.
  • Facilitate groups across age groups and cohorts, including Integrative curriculum, Support Staffing, and Wellness Hour.
  • Foster client engagement and group cohesion throughout the session, encouraging client participation and a camera-on culture.
  • Participate in collaborative Treatment Team (Tuesdays) and Group Supervision (every other Friday) with your assigned Charlie Health Group Quality Supervisor or Group Quality Director, peers, and other Clinical Leadership team members.
  • Work collaboratively and respectfully across the care team, including with Primary Therapists, Care Experience Specialists, and Care Coaches.
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and promptly with all clients, staff, families, agencies, and referents.
  • Monitor your treatment documentation to ensure all of your notes are completed within the required 24-hour timeframe and meet agency and professional standards per the Washington State Health Care Authority โ€“ Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (HCA-DBHR) and The Joint Commission standards.
  • Maintain and model professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Washington Credential Requirement โ€“ Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP).
  • Available to facilitate Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 5:00โ€“8:00 PM Pacific Time.
  • Experience in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, with a solid understanding of both abstinence and harm-reduction models.
  • Experience working with youth and adults.
  • Well versed in a variety of modalities and confident integrating them into your approach (DBT, CBT, EMDR, MI certification is a plus).
  • Passionate about the benefits of group treatment and skilled in conducting group treatment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Creative and engaging, especially over video!
  • The technical ability to run effective telehealth sessions.
  • Reliable WiFi connection when meeting with clients.
  • Familiarity with and willingness to use cloud-based communication softwareโ€”Gmail, Slack, Zoom, Dropboxโ€”in addition to EMR and outcomes survey software on a daily basis.
  • Maintain a HIPAA compliant workspace available for use during all group sessions, meetings, and treatment teams.
  • Part-time, 1099 role.
