[Hiring] Specialty Pharmacy Technician @CenterWell

Role Description

The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/technical/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations and typically works on semi-routine assignments with daily follow-ups. Works closely with providers' offices to troubleshoot and complete medication prior authorization requests for specialty medications.

The Specialty Operations Prior Authorization Technician works with Provider's offices to complete Prior Authorization requests for our members using various programs. Decisions are typically focused on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

Qualifications

• Must have an active Pharmacy Tech Certification with Board of Pharmacy for state of residence
• National Certification: PTCB (CPhT) or ExCPT
• Experience as a Pharmacy Technician OR call center experience in a pharmacy or related call center setting
• Must be able to read & interpret clinical information
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience using multiple computer applications simultaneously
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Requirements

• Mail Order Pharmacy or Specialty Pharmacy experience
• Experience working with insurance plans and Medicare
• Experience submitting and/or reading pharmacy claims
