Role Description

Are you a Registered Mental Health Nurse looking for a new opportunity? We are looking for a Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the team at CAMHS Hospital at Home Online Eating Disorder Service to cover maternity leave. This is a 12 month fixed term maternity cover post.

The Hospital at Home Eating Disorder service is an exciting service developed in collaboration with the Thames Valley Provider Collaborative. The Hospital at Home ED team supports young people with eating disorders who meet the threshold for inpatient care.

• In some cases, admission will be prevented and in others, young people will be stepped down to this model following a short inpatient admission.
• Hospital at Home ED maximizes the use of new technology, provides care close to home, reduces admission, length of stay, waiting times and provides earlier discharge from inpatient care.

The post is largely remote, home based so a confidential working space is required. The Hospital at Home team is a multidisciplinary team consisting of physical health care and mental health care staff. The team objective is to reduce hospital admissions and care for service users in their own home.

The post-holder will be involved in duties including supporting families whose young person is experiencing an eating disorder, alongside the Multi-Disciplinary Team. Support includes:

• Individual sessions
• Meal supports
• Parent support; following a family-based framework

Additional duties will include:

• Supporting and supervising junior team members
• Creating comprehensive care plans and risk assessments
• Completing assessments and professional liaison

Applicants must have a confidential working area at home and must be able to travel to Oxford and other geographical areas within the trust for training and team away days.
